Parents–Teacher Meeting (PTM) – Term I

The Parents–Teacher Meeting (PTM) for Term I was conducted successfully today with active participation from parents, teachers, and the school administration.

Discussions were held on students’ academic progress, attendance, discipline, health, and hygiene. Parents were encouraged to provide continuous support for their children’s learning and overall development.

The issue of water shortage was also discussed, along with the possibility of utilizing the newly identified water source found during road widening works. The meeting concluded with appreciation from the Principal for the parents’ participation and emphasized the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers for students’ success.

Reviving Bhutanese Tradition Through Khuru

The school successfully organized an inter-house Khuru Competition today to promote and preserve Bhutanese culture and traditions. The event was organized by the school instructor and provided students with an enjoyable opportunity to showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while celebrating one of Bhutan's most cherished traditional games.

Honorable Visit of the Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD)

On 22 July, our school was deeply honored to welcome Dasho Tshewang Chophel Dorji, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and SkillsDevelopment (MoESD). During his visit, Dasho toured the school campus, interacted with the school community, and shared his valuable guidance and words of encouragement.
It was a great privilege and pleasure to meet Dasho in person and listen to his insightful messages. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dasho for his gracious visit, continued support, and dedication towards the advancement of education.

Today,School warmly welcomed our new teacher, Ms. Sonam Deki, to our school family. The reception began with the offering of a butter lamp, followed by the presentation of a khadhar, tea, and a warm welcome.
We are delighted to have Ms. Sonam Deki join our school community. We look forward to her valuable contributions in inspiring young minds and making a positive impact on the lives of our students.

𝓐𝓮𝓻𝓸𝓫𝓲𝓬𝓼 𝓒𝓸𝓶𝓹𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷

As part of the school's annual activities, an Aerobics Competition was coordinated by the sports instructors. The objectives of the event were to promote physical fitness and healthy living, develop discipline, coordination, and self confidence, and encourage teamwork and sportsmanship among students.

Students from all houses participated enthusiastically under the guidance of their respective house masters and mistresses. The performances were judged by the Principal and representatives from nearby schools, making the event both enjoyable and meaningful for all participants.

National Forestry Day

Coinciding with the Coronation Day of His Majesty the Great Fourth Druk Gyalpo, National Forestry Day was observed on 2 June across the country. To mark the occasion, the principal, teachers, and students participated in a green tea plantation programme around the school campus.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mrs Dechen Palden, proprietor of Black mountain green tea, for her generous support and for providing the tea plants for this meaningful initiative.
Following the plantation programme, a cleaning campaign was conducted around the school campus as well as along the Trongsa–GMC highway. The activity highlighted our collective commitment to forest conservation and maintaining a clean and healthy community.

Menstrual Hygiene Day was observed on 28th May,2026 under the coordination of the school health coordinator.
The theme:” TOGETHER FOR A PERIODFRIENDLYWORLD”.
The programme aimed to create awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among students and to encourage healthy practices, confidence, and open discussion on menstrual well being.
Students actively participated in the session, where important information on personal hygiene, health care, and the importance of breaking stigma related to menstruation was shared.

The Learning Fair was successfully conducted at Samcholing Primary School, with all teachers and students gathered in the hall to participate in the event. The fair provided learners with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and practical skills through various activities and presentations.
Objectives of the Learning Fair
1. To develop creativity and critical thinking skills among learners.
2. To encourage teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration.
3. To help learners apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations.

𝓔𝓿𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓢𝓽𝓾𝓭𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓕𝓲𝓽𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓦𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓫𝓮𝓲𝓷𝓰 – 𝓣𝓮𝓻𝓶 I

On 7th and 8th May 2026, the fitness activities were coordinated by the school sports instructor. The focus was mainly on the 20-meter pacer test, push-ups, curl-ups, BMI assessment, and cross hop test. These activities play an important role in evaluating students’ overall physical fitness, including endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, and body composition.
The 20-meter pacer test measures cardiovascular endurance and stamina. Push-ups assess upper body strength and muscular endurance, while curl-ups evaluate abdominal strength and core stability. BMI (Body Mass Index) is used to monitor healthy body composition and overall wellness. The cross hop test measures balance, coordination, agility, and lower body control.
Together, these fitness components are essential for promoting a healthy lifestyle, improving physical performance, and encouraging students to maintain regular physical activity and discipline.
