WHY EARLY LEARNING ABOUT CLIMATE AND THE ENVIRONMENT MATTERS
The early years are the foundation for developing lifelong values, attitudes and habits. When children are introduced to nature and climate concepts from a young age, they naturally develop curiosity, empathy and a sense of responsibility for the world around them. Through every day experiences, they learn to appreciate the beauty of nature, use resources wisely, care for plants and animals, reduce waste and inspire others through their positive actions. If we are able to nurture these qualities in early childhood, we can help raise a generation of environmentally responsible citizens who are prepared to address the challenges of climate change and contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and harmonious future for all.

Cooking activities are a fun and meaningful way for young children to learn. They support overall development—physical, social, emotional, and cognitive—in a simple and enjoyable way.

Cultural cooking activities make children feel proud of their culture and build a sense of belonging. It is a joyful way of learning through doing.

Children develop important skills like mixing, washing, and simple preparation. It also improves their teamwork as they work together with friends.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to ISMS Institute Thimphu for sending an ECCD facilitator Miss Karma Lhamo to our Samcholing ECCD Centre for Teaching Practice (TP).
Her support and guidance have been very helpful for our centre. She worked with care, love, and dedication, which benefited both our centre and the young children.
The children enjoyed learning with her, and it made a positive difference in their growth and development.
We are truly grateful for this opportunity and support.

Celebrating International Play Day is very meaningful as it supports the overall development of young children and makes learning enjoyable.
We are very happy that we successfully celebrated International Play Day in our ECCD centre. The children actively participated in different fun activities and games. They enjoyed a lot and learned many new things through play.

It is very important for young children to know about healthy and unhealthy foods from an early age.
By teaching ECCD children about healthy and unhealthy foods in simple ways, we help them build good eating habits for life. This will help them grow into healthy and happy individuals.
