EduCARING for Universal Happiness and Wellbeing

REVERSING TRENDS: A simple Google Maps search once brought these two Australian boys to ELC.

Five months of their high school years were spent here โ€” studying Dzongkha, Buddhism and Gross National Happiness, climbing snowy mountain peaks, and discovering the quiet joy of community life.

Now, having graduated, they have returned to what they see as a second home of their choice, not just to visit, but to serve, reconnect, and belong once again.

Some paths lead us back to where the heart truly feels at home. โœจ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

21.02.2026: When a King gives of himself wholeheartedly, tirelessly, astutely, and selflessly for the wellbeing of his people, every day becomes a prayer for his long, healthy, and happy life. In a world where wise and compassionate leadership seems increasingly rare, our beloved King shines as a beacon of hope, inspiration, and guide - not only for the people who love and revere him, but for leaders around the world, especially those who seem to have lost their way, causing deep suffering to so many they were
meant to serve and to protect.

May Bhutan and the Bhutanese people continue to be blessed. May we never take for granted how fortunate we are to live in this land of the Peaceful Dragon, guided by visionary and benevolent leadership.

Long live our beloved King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

05.02.2026: A most happy, blessed and truly auspicious coincidence to celebrate the 10th birth anniversary of our beloved Gyalsey with the completion of 10 years of ELC as the Educating for Lifelong Citizenship School at our sacred location flanked by the holy temples of the Guru Nye and the Tandin Nye. โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™

How profound a realisation for us all, that as teachers we GET to transform and impact the lives of children who will be the future stewards of this beautiful nation and this amazing planet, our shared home. Our prayer this morning was to reflect deeply on our mission and the roles we must assume that couldnโ€™t be captured more aptly than in these sacred words:

โ€œMay I be a guard for those who need protection,
A guide for those on the path;
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood.

May I be a lamp in the darkness,
A resting place for the weary;
A healing medicine for those who are sick
A vase of plenty; a tree of miracles.

And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening;
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.โ€
~ Shantideva
The Way of the Bodhisattva.

May our precious Gyalsey, the future king of our nation, be blessed with a long healthy and happy life, to carry on the legacies of wisdom and compassion of his beloved father and grandfather and his forefathers before them to take this extraordinary nation from strength to strength, in peace, joy, contentment - in happiness and wellbeing for all. โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ
