A man in his early 80s is suspected to have been washed away by the Wang Chhu at around 5:30 this morning.
According to sources, the man had left his clothes and other belongings by the riverside near Olakha.
His relatives reported the incident to the police, who then alerted the DeSuung Office.
Search operations are underway.

Search operations are underway in Wangdue Phodrang for a 32-year-old male tourist from Maharashtra in India, who is reported to have gone missing after the bike he was riding veered off the road and plunged into the Punatsangchhu below Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. The incident occurred on Saturday morning.
A man out for a morning walk noticed and reported the incident to the police.
According to sources, the motorcycle bearing a Bhutanese private registration number was found on the river embankment. Sources said the tourist and his guide had stayed at a homestay in Punakha. Later, the tourist borrowed his guide's motorcycle to explore nearby places but did not return.
The tourist also reportedly obtained a permit from the Bhutan Construction and Transportation Authority to ride a motorcycle in the country. He was visiting Bhutan as a tourist and was travelling alone. At the time of the accident, he was travelling along the Wangdue–Tsirang highway.
Search operations have been ongoing since Saturday. However, rugged terrain and rising river levels have hampered efforts.

A male elephant, estimated to be around seven and a half years old, was found dead along the Gelephu-Sarpang highway area yesterday.
According to sources, the incident is believed to have occurred on Saturday. Upon receiving the information, forest officials and a veterinary team from the Gelephu Livestock Office inspected the site to determine the possible cause of death.
Preliminary observations found swelling around the elephant's tail and signs of respiratory distress, leading officials to suspect a possible snake bite. However, the exact cause of death has not been confirmed and will be determined after laboratory analysis.
The veterinary team has collected blood samples from the carcass for further investigation. The elephant carcass was buried at the site in accordance with standard wildlife management and biosecurity protocols.
