Being a small nation makes us a smart nation, this is not out of choice but out of necessity. We have to figure out ways to use technology to solve problems-to improve governance, democracy, education, agriculture, to create jobs, enhance well-being, in health care, to make our cities safer and cleaner and in various other ways that will benefit our people. We have talented Bhutanese, who, given the right training and preparation, can take advantage of technology and in this way, enable higher productivity and greater well-being- His majesty the King of Bhutan.
Bhutan GIS Society is pleased to be part of training on use of GPS and GIS technology with front-line foresters who are the immediate guardian of our natural resources using spatial technology and realizing the vision of maintaining 60% of total land under forest cover in all time to come.

We are really glad to be part of GPS &GIS Training for livestock officials of National Highland Research and Development Center (NHRDC), Jakar, Bumthang, Department of Livestock. It is yet another wonderful episode for the society to be a part of the training. We are happy to know people are realizing the use of GPS and GIS is not only confined to few user like foresters, engineers, and surveyor.
The researchers, livestock production officers, and other staffs are learning to use their Smartphone as GPS and QGIS to perform simple spatial analysis and map cartography. The training has started from 22 July, 2019 and will end on 26 July, 2019. We stay committed to deliver what is expected and we wish you very happy learning.
