Scouting in Bhutan began in the 1970s, gaining formal structure in 1996 after a Royal Command from His Majesty The Fourth King. On 26 July 1999, the Bhutan Scouts Association (Druk Scout Tshogpa) became a full member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) at the 35th World Scout Conference in Durban, South Africa.

🌞 Celebrating the heart of our school! 💛✨

On this day we joined the nation in celebrating Teachers' Day, coinciding with the birth anniversary of our Third Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

☀️ It was a day filled with gratitude, beginning with a special surprise for our teachers—the unexpected presence of our seniors!The day was all about honoring our incredible educators, past and present, who work tirelessly to shape our children's future.

⭐️ As we enjoyed a lovely celebratory lunch, we reminded our students that while we guide them here, their parents remain their first and lifelong teachers.
⭐️Our heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their invaluable contributions behind the scenes.

☀️ As we look ahead, we are reminded that our work is never truly finished. Let the smiles and gratitude of the day serve as a reminder of the vital spark teachers ignite within each child. May all teachers carry this inspiration back into the classrooms, continuing to push boundaries, innovate with passion, and lead with heart.

☀️ 🎖️ 🏆 Sunshine School is proud to announce the successful conclusion of our annual Sports Day, held on April 25, 2026. It was a spectacular event filled with energy, camaraderie, and outstanding performances from our students, and we are delighted to share the highlights of this memorable day with our community.

☀️ ⛅️ What an absolutely fantastic day it was—we were truly blessed with perfect weather! With the skies remaining kind, avoiding both rain and the intense sun, our athletes were able to compete in complete comfort.

💛A heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us to cheer, clap, and support our children. The energy you brought to the field turned the sidelines into the best place to be!

✨ To our incredible volunteers who helped keep everything running seamlessly: we honestly appreciate your hard work. And a huge special thank you to the parents who generously prepared such wholesome, delicious refreshments-they provided the perfect boost of energy.

✨ We are so grateful to the Thimphu Thromde Scouts Association for organizing another successful hike, this time from Thinleygang to Punakha!

⛅️ ☀️ With perfect weather and great company, members of Thimphu Thromde Scouts Association enjoyed a truly rejuvenating experience.

✨ Marking our 4th hike along this historic trail, we remain deeply inspired by the spirit of adventure and teamwork that connects us to our ancestors' footsteps and the enduring culture of our beautiful nation.

The new academic session commenced with great enthusiasm as we welcomed our children to school on March 2nd. The past few weeks have been marked by a series of significant events and professional milestones that set a positive tone for the year ahead:

☀️ Student Orientation:
We were pleased to welcome both new and returning students. The orientation programs focused on integrating students into our school culture and ensuring a seamless transition into their new classes.


✨ Campaigning for school captains:
The pursuit of student leadership took center stage during the School Captains Campaign.
Our candidates demonstrated remarkable initiative through their engagement with the student body. School Elections:

☀️ Following the campaigns, Management, staff and students participated in the School Elections, practicing the values of democratic choice and responsibility as they cast their votes for the new leadership team.

✨ Additionally, we successfully held our first monthly teachers’ meeting of the term to align our strategic goals and operational standards.

☀️ To further enhance our instructional quality, our ICT teachers facilitated a specialized School-Based In-service Program (SBIP). This session was based on the "Newly Aligned Curriculum to Cambridge".

✨ We look forward to a productive and rewarding academic year characterized by leadership, academic rigor, and continuous professional growth.
