Challenging as it may be, we are pleased that Bhutan has finally chosen Cambridge International Education—not as an affiliated national board, but as the framework to align with. We are proud to have been pioneers in this journey.

Pelkhil School received ministerial approval for Cambridge International Education ten years ago this month. However, due to many circumstances, it was not possible to proceed with formal affiliation. Despite this, since 2016 we have been using Cambridge learning materials for our lower primary students.

In October 2024, we finally obtained official affiliation with Cambridge International Education. This year, we formally launched the Cambridge curriculum for Grades PP to III. The curriculum will expand to Grade V next year and will continue to grow upward step by step in the years ahead.

It has been a decade since Cambridge was first introduced in Bhutan through our efforts, and we are delighted that the vision is now becoming a reality—not only at Pelkhil School, but across the nation.

A curriculum alone, however, is not enough. Teachers must also be trained. For this, we have established Bhutan's first and only Cambridge Professional Development & Qualification Centre (PDQ). The centre will award qualifications for Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching & Learning, with final assessment done at Cambridge itself. The centre will train our teachers and all other teachers interested in attaining international teacher certification.

Award Ceremony – Junior Wing

The Award Ceremony for the Junior Wing was held yesterday with great enthusiasm.

While we organize a wide range of activities throughout the year, we value academic achievement as a vital component of education. This ceremony was an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our students.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION 2025

Today, we held the Prize Distribution Ceremony to honour the position holders of the Senior Wing.

We also recognized the Best Class Captain, Best Class, and Tiger of the Year (Best Student).

In addition, students of Class 9 were specially acknowledged for achieving 100% attendance.
