🌱 Social Forestry Day: 🪴

On June 2nd, the school celebrated Social Forestry Day with an inspiring array of activities. The dedicated staff led by example, meticulously planting a diverse selection of saplings, each a promise of a greener future. Their efforts transformed the school grounds into a vibrant canvas of burgeoning life, fostering a deeper connection to nature within the hearts of all.

Meanwhile, the intellectual curiosity of the upper primary students blossomed as they delved into the profound theme of ‘Our Forest’ for an engaging essay competition. Their words painted vivid pictures of ecological importance, sustainable practices, and the intrinsic beauty of woodlands, reflecting a thoughtful understanding of their role as environmental stewards.
Simultaneously, the younger, budding artists from lower primary channeled their creativity into a drawing competition, also centered on ‘Our Forest’. Their innocent yet powerful strokes brought forth enchanting landscapes, playful wildlife, and lush greenery, showcasing their innate appreciation for the natural world and its wonders.

Kuensel Phodrang Primary School jubilantly consecrated school's shrine which was constructed under the initiatives of Khenpo Kencho Tshering along with the due support from school administration and the staff. Besides school's contribution for the development of the shrine, staff personally came forward donating various kinds to uplift the shrine. Mr. Sherab Choezang contributed the entire wall canvas, Mrs. Sonam Choden contributed 21 Tara Tapestry and Mrs. Sonam Choki and Mrs. Sonam Paldon contributed the bouquets as a gesture of offering.
To mark the auspiciousness of the shrine consecration which coincided with Lord Buddha's Parinirvana, staff recited Buddhist Scripture- Choe Bum-for the wellbeing of all the sentient beings and world peace.

Menstrual Hygiene day 28/05/2026, Theme ‘Together for a period friendly Bhutan.’

Menstrual Hygiene Day is important because it helps people understand that periods are natural and normal. It teaches girls and women how to stay clean, healthy, and confident during menstruation.

It also breaks the silence and stigma around periods and encourages everyone to show respect and support. The day reminds us to provide safe pads, clean water, and proper toilets so that every girl can manage her period with dignity.

Heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for Health Team of KPPS for giving important for the day and coming up with great initiatives.

Health Menstrual Hygiene Day:

Coinciding with an auspicious day, Kuensel Phodrang Primary School was extremely honoured to receive the visit of His Hon'ble Dasho (Dr) Sonam Kinga on 19th.05.2026.

Dasho who is an icon of numerous talents, intellectual capacities and exemplary mankind who serve for the betterment of Bhutan and abroad under the leadership of our beloved Druk Gyalpo, shared the insights on how to become an efficient Bhutanese citizens
to serve the country, the King, parents and the people.

Reflecting and citing Dasho's own personal story, Dasho shared how love for books reading can shape one's own life and assist to fulfill ones own dream and benefit others.

Later Dasho personally interacted with the students and empowered the young minds with imagination and dreams.

Kuensel Phodrang School was blessed to receive the gift of around 300 books on various aspects from Dasho, which heightened up the contents of wisdom and knowledge in school library.

We are deeply thankful for Dasho's visit and generosity of wisdom and knowledge.

A special shoutout to our hardworking staff: your guidance, enthusiasm, and behind the scenes magic made everything seamless. Thank you for nurturing our school’s spirit.

And to our wonderful and supportive parents, for your sacrifices mad from early morning setups to late night cleanups, Your presence, donations, volunteer hours, and cheers brought the community alive. You are the backbone of our school’s family.
