On the auspicious occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Guru Rinpoche, we would like to offer our sincere prayers for the well-being of all sentient beings.
According to tradition, it is said that Rinpoche was born as an eight-year-old boy within a lotus flower on the lake of Dhanakosha in Oddiyana. He is widely revered in Bhutan for bringing Buddhism to the country. Guru Rinpoche is also known as Padmasambhava which means “Lotus-born.”
Thousands of devotees will be offering prayers and butter lamps to observe the holy day.
