𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐒

An orientation session on the Education Management Information System (EMIS) was conducted for all teachers by Mr. Thinley Wangchuk, the School EMIS Focal Teacher, in the conference hall after the 8th LE.

During the session, Mr Thinley Wangchuk provided a comprehensive overview of the EMIS platform, highlighting the different dashboards available for the Ministry, Dzongkhag Education Officers (DEOs), Principal, teachers, and class teachers. He clearly explained the roles and functionalities associated with each dashboard to help teachers better understand their responsibilities within the system.

Additionally, the session focused on the key differences between the old and the updated version of EMIS, enabling participants to familiarize themselves with the new features and improvements.

To enhance practical understanding, a hands-on training session was conducted using the staging server, allowing teachers to explore the system and practise relevant tasks in a guided environment. The session proved informative and engaging, equipping teachers with the necessary skills to effectively use EMIS in their daily academic and administrative responsibilities.

Mr. Gyem Phub, an alumnus of our school who graduated in 2022, has embarked on an inspiring entrepreneurial journey. Together with his wife, he established a tailoring shop in Samtengang, turning their skills and determination into a sustainable business. He was invited as a guest speaker to interact with the club members, where he shared his experiences, challenges, and the realities of starting and managing a small business. His story served as a source of motivation, encouraging learners to explore entrepreneurship with confidence and perseverance.

The Dzongkha Declamation Speech program organized by the Dzongkha Department on influential and famous people holds great importance for learners in many meaningful ways.
Firstly, it strengthens students’ command of the Dzongkha language. By preparing and delivering speeches, learners improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and confidence in speaking their national language with clarity and pride.
Secondly, the program deepens students’ understanding of great personalities who have shaped society. Learning about figures such as Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Education Minister Lyonpo Yeezang De Thapa, Farmer Sangay helps students appreciate values like leadership, compassion, wisdom, and dedication. These role models inspire learners to reflect on their own character and aspirations.
Moreover, such activities enhance public speaking skills. Students learn how to express ideas confidently, organize their thoughts, and engage an audience—skills that are essential for their academic and personal growth.
The program also promotes critical thinking and creativity, as learners interpret the lives and contributions of influential people in their own words. It encourages research, reflection, and meaningful expression.
Finally, it fosters a sense of cultural identity and respect for heritage. Through Dzongkha, students connect more deeply with Bhutanese values and traditions, strengthening national pride.
Overall, the declamation speech program is not just a speaking activity—it is a powerful platform for language development, character building, and inspiration for future leaders.

An orientation and demonstration programme on the usage of recently renovated and newly constructed WASH facilities, along with other infrastructural developments, was successfully conducted in the school’s Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH). The programme was attended by all staff members and students, marking an important step towards ensuring proper utilization, maintenance, and sustainability of the newly developed facilities.
The session was led by the Project Manager and Project Director of the ongoing construction works carried out by Passang Construction Pvt. Ltd. The programme was conducted in accordance with the directives and guidance of the Dasho Secretary and Dasho Director of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), as well as the Dasho Dzongda of Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag.
During the session, the project team provided a comprehensive presentation and live demonstration on the proper usage and maintenance of the newly installed WASH facilities. They elaborated on the functionality of washrooms, water supply systems, drainage mechanisms and other essential infrastructures that have been recently completed. Emphasis was placed on maintaining cleanliness, ensuring hygiene and promoting responsible use among students and staff.
In addition, the Project Manager and Director clearly outlined the specifications and costs of the various equipment and materials installed under the project. They also highlighted the importance of accountability, stating that any damage caused due to negligence or misuse would be subject to appropriate responsibility measures. This was done to instill a sense of ownership and care among the users of the facilities.
The session also served as a platform to formally introduce all newly constructed and renovated structures to the school community. The detailed briefing ensured that both staff and students gained a clear understanding of how to properly use and maintain the facilities for long-term sustainability.
From the school’s side, it was agreed that a formal handing-over process of the WASH facilities and renovated infrastructures will be carried out. Responsibilities will be assigned to respective coordinators, in-charges and concerned individuals to ensure effective management, monitoring and accountability. This structured approach is expected to strengthen the maintenance system and uphold the quality and longevity of the facilities.
In conclusion, the orientation and demonstration programme was highly informative and beneficial. It reinforced the importance of shared responsibility in maintaining school infrastructure and highlighted the collective role of both staff and students in ensuring a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment.

The Spring Examinations across all academic domains commenced today under the able leadership and coordination of the Examination Secretary, marking an important phase in the academic term.

On Saturday, the school conducted a meaningful School-Level Professional Development Programme in place of the usual break. The session focused on the 𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙡𝙮 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙪𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 (𝘼𝙄) 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.
Teachers actively engaged in discussions on curriculum alignment, instructional strategies, and assessment practices to enhance student learning outcomes. The session on AI in Education provided insights into emerging tools, practical classroom applications, and the ethical use of technology in teaching.
The programme served as a valuable platform for collaboration, reflection, and capacity building, reinforcing the school’s commitment to continuous professional growth and improved teaching practices.

𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
This is to inform all parents and guardians that the Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) scheduled for 11th April 2026 has been rescheduled until further notice.
This decision has been made in light of the recent increase in fuel prices. As a responsible institution, the school aims to support the government’s initiative to minimize fuel consumption by reducing non-essential vehicular movement.
Furthermore, the school administration kindly requests all parents and guardians to avoid casual visits to the school that require transportation, unless it is an emergency.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. A new date for the PTM will be communicated in due course.

Report on Completion and Handover of Basketball Court

The repair and renovation of the school basketball court were successfully completed by Pasang Construction, significantly improving its safety, functionality, and overall playing condition.
The facility has been formally handed over to the School Administration and the School Sports Committee, comprising the School Sports In-charge (SSI), Basketball Custodian, and Sports Counsellor, for proper management and maintenance.
The Sports Committee has also developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure effective use, safety, and sustainability of the court.
The school extends its appreciation to all involved and anticipates that the upgraded facility will greatly support students’ physical development and sporting excellence.
