🩸Break the Taboo, End the Stigma!

Today is International Menstrual Hygiene Day, and we are turning awareness into action! Periods are natural, and access to safe hygiene is a basic human right.

Here is how our school stepped up today:

We hosted a live demonstration breaking down pad usage basics (Peel, Press, Wrap, and reminding everyone to change them every 4–6 hours).

Thanks to the generosity, we collected packs of pads for local shelters and schools to fight period poverty!

Our staffs are proudly wearing red ribbons around our arms to symbolize our commitment to breaking the silence.

Thank you to everyone who donated, learned, and wore their red ribbons with pride today!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Stronger families, thriving students!

Today, Tendruk Central School successfully conducted the School-Based Parenting Education and Awareness Program (SPEA) alongside the Helping Adolescents Thrive (HAT) - Caregiver Support Workshop.

It was wonderful to see so many parents and caregivers come together to discuss positive parenting, emotional well-being, and ways to support our young adolescents as they navigate these crucial years of growth.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for your active participation and to our school facilitators for organizing such an impactful session.

When the school and community walk hand-in-hand, our children thrive!

🌈 Ensuring every child is supported and included!

Last week, our Inclusive Education (IE) Team successfully carried out a series of vital awareness and orientation sessions tailored for our day scholar students.

For Classes PP–III: On the 13th, the orientation team visited our youngest learners right in their respective classrooms to deliver age-appropriate, heartwarming sessions on kindness, friendship, and mutual support.

For Grades IV–X Day Scholars: The team gathered the students in the Dining Hall right after the 8th period last Friday. The session focused on building a supportive peer environment, understanding diverse learning needs, and fostering inclusion within our school community.

Together, we are building a school where everyone belongs!

🎤 Eloquence, intellect, and a deep love for our national language!

Our senior students of Grades XI and XII took to the stage to showcase their brilliant spontaneous thinking and linguistic skills in the Dzongkha Extempore Speech Competition.

Speaking extempore is no small feat; it requires quick wit, immense confidence, and a strong command of the language. Our participants amazed the audience and judges alike with their articulation, mature perspectives, and poise under pressure.

You have set a wonderful example of preserving and promoting our rich culture and language!

🫂Building a safer, kinder home away from home!

Last Friday, our School Well-Being Committee successfully wrapped up a vital Anti-Bullying Awareness Program dedicated to our wonderful boarder students.

Living away from family comes with its own unique journey, and we are committed to ensuring our boarding house remains a sanctuary of safety, respect, and sisterhood/brotherhood. Through interactive discussions and open conversations, our boarders learned how to stand up for one another, spot the signs of bullying, and safely speak up.

A huge thank you to the Well-Being Committee for organizing this. We are so proud of the safe, supportive community you are building together!

🚨Disaster Awareness & Preparedness!

Safety isn't just a practice; it's a life skill. This week, we took significant steps to ensure our students are ready for the unexpected.

Disaster Awareness Orientation
On Wednesday, our Disaster Focal Person conducted an essential awareness session for all students. We focused on understanding different types of hazards and the importance of staying calm and informed. Educating our "lil' ones" today ensures a more resilient community tomorrow.

Earthquake Mock Drill
Putting theory into practice, the entire school participated in an Earthquake Mock Drill today. Students practiced the vital "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" maneuvers and followed evacuation routes to safety in a calm, orderly fashion.

Why is this important?

Building Confidence: When students know exactly what to do, fear is replaced by clear-headed action.

Creating Muscle Memory: Drills ensure that safe habits become second nature during a real emergency.

Protecting Lives: Proper orientation reduces risks and helps everyone reach designated safe zones quickly and efficiently.

We are so proud of our students for their focus and cooperation during these exercises. Let’s keep safety at the heart of everything we do!

The session was led by our Officiating Principal and Mr. Tshering Gyeltshen, the School EMIS Focal, with a detailed technical walkthrough provided.

Key highlights of the session included:

Dashboard Overviews: Understanding the specific interfaces for the Ministry, DEOs, Principals, and Class Teachers.

The "New" vs. "Old": A comparative look at the latest updates and improved features of the platform.

Hands-on Practice: Teachers utilized the staging server for a practical, guided experience to ensure they are ready for real-world application.

This training ensures our staff remains equipped with the necessary digital skills to manage academic and administrative responsibilities effectively!
