The school proudly joined the nation in observing Social Forestry Day, coinciding with the Coronation Day of His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
As part of the celebration, the 28 Y-VIAs (Young Volunteers in Action) planted more than 50 Spanish Cherry trees (Mimusops elengi) within the school campus. Being located in the southern region, these trees were carefully chosen to provide lasting shade, greenery, and a pleasant environment throughout the year.
The programme was carried out in collaboration with the Nature Club and the Scouts. Together, they also planted more than 60 banana seedlings along with a few areca nut saplings, flowering plants, and fruit-bearing trees across the campus.
What made the day even more special was the blessing from nature itself. For the past few days, the weather had been unbearably hot and scorching. Before the plantation began, everyone gathered under the large mango tree near the football ground for the briefing session. As we sat together, the weather suddenly turned calm and gentle, bringing unexpected relief to all.
Soon after the briefing concluded, heavy rain poured for nearly ten minutes. It felt as though nature itself had blessed the plantation programme. Remarkably, the rain stopped just in time for the plantation activities to continue smoothly and only resumed again after all the work had been completed. It was truly a beautiful and memorable moment, especially during a season when rain is required under extreme heat.
The school would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to The Bhutan Youth Development Fund for their generous initiative and financial support towards this meaningful programme. Their contribution has greatly supported our efforts in creating a greener and healthier school environment.
Together, we continue to nurture nature for a greener tomorrow.

The school observed Menstrual Hygiene Day promoting awareness on menstrual hygiene, dignity, care, and support for adolescent girls. The observance also emphasized the importance of breaking stigma and creating a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment for everyone.
The school would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Tenzin Norgayel Tshongkhang, Samdrup Jongkhar, for his generous donation of sanitary pads for our girls. The school remains deeply indebted to kindness and support towards the wellbeing of our students.
We would also like to appreciate all boys who donated too.
Together, let us continue to create a more caring, respectful, and period-friendly world for all.
