Phase II of the Student Exchange Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity was successfully conducted at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), Dewathang, from 15–19 June 2026. Supported by the Bhutan-India Foundation, and coordinated by the Department of Information Technology-JNEC, the programme brought together staff and students from JNEC, Vellore Institute of Technology(VIT), Chennai, and Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology(SCET), Gujarat, for a week of learning, collaboration, and meaningful cross-border exchange.

The programme opened with a warm meet-and-greet session, giving participants the chance to connect, interact, and build new academic and professional networks. The following sessions took participants into some of the most exciting areas of emerging technology, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI in healthcare, AI agents, Edge AI, dyslexia detection using AI, software design patterns, and quantum computing. From research writing tools to healthcare innovation and intelligent systems, the sessions offered a strong mix of theory, current trends, and practical applications.

Beyond the classroom, participants also explored Bhutanese culture and local heritage through visits to Chokyi Gyatso Institute - Dewathang, Wamrong Town, Sherubtse College, Tashigang Dzong, Barshong Lhakhang, and Khaling. These visits added a rich cultural dimension to the programme and made the exchange more memorable.

Overall, the programme was not just about AI and cybersecurity; it was about ideas, friendships, culture, and collaboration. It provided participants with valuable technical knowledge, cultural exposure, and a stronger foundation for future academic partnerships.

𝐉𝐍𝐄𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐆𝐈

As part of its commitment to community engagement and capacity building, a team of faculty members from Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) successfully conducted a three-day Skills Development Workshop on Teaching Pedagogy at Chökyi Gyatso Institute (CGI), Dewathang, from 9–11 June 2026. The workshop brought together 39 participants, including Polo Trulku Rinpoche, Khenchen, Khenpos, Lopons, and institute staff.

The programme provided an interactive platform for participants to strengthen their teaching practices through sessions on lesson planning, classroom interaction, assessment design, Bloom’s Taxonomy, classroom leadership, student engagement, motivation, and effective classroom management. Participants actively engaged in discussions, group activities, and practical exercises, creating a vibrant and collaborative learning environment.

On the final day, the President of JNEC addressed the monks and staff of CGI, where he reaffirmed JNEC’s commitment to continued collaboration with CGI. Participants were also introduced to Artificial Intelligence, its applications in education, and the importance of its responsible and ethical use.

The workshop concluded on a highly positive note, strengthening partnerships, fostering professional growth, and reaffirming a shared dedication to enhancing education for the benefit of the wider community.
