𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁!

Our girls brought home the 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀-𝘂𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 in volleyball at the recent Regional Sports Meet featuring schools from Thimphu Dzongkhag, Thimphu Thromde, and Paro Dzongkhag, held in Paro.

With determination, teamwork, and fighting spirit, our girls played their hearts out and made us proud once again!

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to our girls, Coach Mr. Dolay Tshering, and Team Manager Ms. Sonam Yangzom for this outstanding achievement!

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
We joined the nation in observing National Earthquake Mock Drill Day on 21 September 2026.

The drill focused on strengthening awareness, preparedness, and emergency response among our students and staff. The Duck–Cover–Hold, evacuation, search and rescue procedures were practised, reinforcing the importance of staying calm and responding quickly during an earthquake.

A valuable reminder that preparedness today can save lives tomorrow.

𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲

As part of our ongoing school development initiatives, a 𝗚𝘆𝗲𝗹𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗻 with a 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘇𝘂𝗻𝗴 enshrined within was installed at our main gate on 𝟏𝟔 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, an auspicious day.

More than an aesthetic enhancement, this sacred installation is a symbol of 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 for the thousands of students, staff, parents, and visitors who enter, leave, and pass through our school gate.

May it bless every journey, bring harmony and positive energy, and make every visit to our school 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹.

This initiative also adds to the 𝗕𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 and aesthetic character of our school, creating an environment that reflects our traditions, values, and reverence.

A warm welcome to our new staff members, Ms Cheten Zangmo and Ms Karma Yeshi Choden. We are delighted to have you join the Lamgong HSS family and wish you a wonderful journey with us.

We also bid farewell to our Teacher Trainee, Mr Pema Wangchuk and thank you for your dedication and contribution. Wishing you success and good luck in your training and teaching profession.

Lamgong HSS extends our sincere gratitude to Mrs Tashi Choden from Tshendona Village for her generous support towards teaching and learning.

She has sponsored three 65-inch TVs worth Nu. 135,000, placed in 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐕𝐈𝐈 𝐁, 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐕𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐁, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥, providing valuable support for more engaging and technology-enabled learning.

𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄—𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐁!

Today, Lamgong Higher Secondary School took another step towards 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 with the inauguration of our 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐛, an initiative of the Science PLC and a project of Lamgong HSS.

Designed for Classes XI & XII, the Virtual Lab covers the prescribed Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals. It provides students and teachers an opportunity to observe experiments virtually—from the procedure and apparatus to the results—even when certain materials, chemicals or equipment are unavailable in the laboratory.

𝐍𝐨 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬? 𝐍𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬? 𝐍𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧!

Adding to this academic initiative, the Science PLC also unveiled a large 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 on the wall of one of our academic buildings, making science a visible and everyday part of our learning environment.

The Virtual Lab was inaugurated today in the presence of the Principal, Vice-Principals and members of the Science PLC.

This may be a small initiative, but it represents a big commitment to making learning more accessible, engaging and future-ready.

Interested schools are welcome to connect with Lamgong HSS and the Science PLC. We are happy to share and support, with any agreed incentive contributing towards school development and encouraging the teachers who have put their heart and soul into this work.

The Science PLC extends heartfelt appreciation to the school administration, Principal and Vice-Principals for their continued guidance, encouragement and support.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Successfully concluded the Reading Week 2026 today, 11 September 2026, under the theme “𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.”

Held from 7–11 September, the week occupied students from both the Primary and Secondary Campuses through a variety of engaging reading, speaking, storytelling and performance-based activities.

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝:

• Classes IV–VI – Dzongkha Quiz
• Class IV – Read Aloud
• Class V – Storytelling
• Class VI – Book Talk
• Special activities to mark International Literacy Day

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝:

• Class VII – Reader’s Theatre
• Class XI – Declamation
• Class VIII & X – Poetry Recitation and Dramatic Reading
• Class XII – Short Drama
• Class IX – Character Parade
• Reading activities were also conducted in both English and Dzongkha.

The activities provided students with opportunities to read with confidence, express ideas, develop fluency, appreciate literature, speak in public, work collaboratively and bring literary characters and stories to life.

The week reminded us that reading is more than a classroom activity, it builds confidence, imagination, knowledge and a lifelong love for learning.

A big appreciation to all our students, teachers and the Literary Committee for making this Reading Week meaningful and enjoyable.
