Today was an exciting and memorable day for the Tarayana Club of Lamgong Higher Secondary School as we had the wonderful opportunity to learn about and experience pickleball.

As part of the Department of Education Programmes (DEP), Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) pilot initiative to introduce pickleball in schools, a team of pickleball experts from Singapore, accompanied by Ministry officials, visited our school and conducted an engaging demonstration. The team was received by the school Principal, Vice Principal, Tarayana Club coordinator, and SSIs of different schools.

๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐“๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐›, along with the ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐›, were excited to participate, learn the basic skills, and get a firsthand experience of this new and enjoyable sport.

We are sincerely grateful to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and the visiting team from Singapore for giving us this valuable opportunity. It was not only a chance to learn a new sport but also an opportunity to connect, participate, and have fun together.

We look forward to playing more, learning more, and embracing pickleball with enthusiasm!

The ๐“๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› proudly observed Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 under the theme โ€œRed Dot Bhutan โ€“ Together for a Period-Friendly Bhutanโ€ in collaboration with the ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐›.

As part of the advocacy initiative, a special awareness program was conducted at the Primary Block to educate young girls and boys on menstrual hygiene, empathy, and respect.

Simultaneously, a similar awareness program was also carried out at the Secondary Block during the morning session to promote understanding and awareness among students coordinated by school well-being and health coordinators.

The observance began with an inspiring speech delivered by ๐๐ ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ง๐  ๐‰๐ข๐ ๐ฆ๐ž ๐‘๐š๐›๐ญ๐ž๐ง representing the ๐“๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› during the morning assembly. The speech highlighted the importance of menstrual hygiene awareness, breaking myths and stigma, and creating a supportive and respectful environment for girls and women.

To make the program more meaningful, parents and guardians were also invited to participate. Their presence reflected our shared responsibility in creating awareness and breaking the silence surrounding womenโ€™s health and menstrual issues.

In the afternoon, a separate awareness session was conducted especially for young girls to help them understand menstruation, personal hygiene, and self-care in a safe and comfortable environment.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, guardians, teachers, and supporters who contributed to making the program successful. Together, let us continue to build a caring and period-friendly community where no girl feels ashamed to talk about menstruation. โค๏ธ

The school's Tarayana Club, in collaboration with dedicated school staff, undertook a meaningful community service initiative today to support the ongoing construction of ๐’๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐ž๐ค๐ก๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ, located on a hilltop above our school.

Both students and staff actively contributed their time and effort toward the development of this important spiritual and cultural landmark. The initiative aimed to instill values of volunteerism, teamwork, and community responsibility among the students, especially the members of the Tarayana Club.

The Tarayana Club would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the school administration for their generous support and for arranging transportation for the volunteers. All students and staff returned home safely, with hearts filled with satisfaction at the end of the day.

To express our deep respect for Mother Earth๐ŸŒ and to observe ๐„๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ก ๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ tonight, ๐“๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› ๐œ๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ organized a mass cleaning campaign as an awareness program for the entire school. Students actively participated in cleaning in and around the school premises, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.

Additionally, students have pledged to turn off their lights at home from ๐Ÿ–:๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ ๐๐Œ ๐ญ๐จ ๐Ÿ—:๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ ๐๐Œ and chant ๐๐š๐ณ๐š ๐†๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฎ, taking advantage of the ๐๐š๐ณ๐š ๐†๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฎ ๐‹๐ฎ๐ง๐  (oral transmission) received from our Lam Neten during the School Rimdo yesterday.
