World Scout Scarf Day and Investiture Ceremony for PP Students.

The school observed World Scout Scarf Day along with the Investiture Ceremony for the PP students, marking a memorable milestone in their journey as young scouts. The program commenced with the recitation of His Majesty's Zhabten, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, creating a solemn and patriotic atmosphere.

To symbolize the students' first step into the world of Scouting, the three youngest PP students offered butter lamps, signifying wisdom, hope, and the beginning of a meaningful journey. This beautiful ritual marked the official entry of all PP students into the Scout family.

The ceremony continued with the investiture, during which the senior teachers proudly presented the Scout scarves to each student. Wearing the Scout scarf for the very first time, the students took the Scout Oath, pledging to uphold the values and principles of Scouting with sincerity and dedication.

To commemorate this special occasion, class-wise group photographs were taken, capturing the joy and pride of the newly invested scouts. The celebration concluded with simple refreshments, followed by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony in their respective classrooms, making the day even more memorable for the young students.

World Scout Scarf Day – 1 August 2026

World Scout Scarf Day is celebrated annually on 1 August, when Scouts and former Scouts around the world proudly wear their Scout scarves (neckerchiefs) as a symbol of unity, friendship, and belonging. The day commemorates the first Scout camp held on Brownsea Island, England, in 1907, and celebrates the enduring values of Scouting—service, leadership, friendship, and unity.

Woochu Lower Secondary School is proud to join Scouts across the globe in marking this special occasion. Today, we proudly wear our yellow and orange National Scout scarves as a symbol of our commitment to the Scout Promise and Scout Law. May we continue to serve our community with dedication, build lasting friendships, and inspire others through the true spirit of Scouting.

Happy World Scout Scarf Day! ⚜️

The school would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Captain Namgay Dorji, OC Paro International Airport for conducting the highly informative awareness program on Children in Conflict with the Law. The session was both engaging and insightful, providing our students with a clear understanding of various offences, their legal consequences, and the sanctions prescribed under the Penal Code of Bhutan.

Captain Namgay Dorji presented the topic in a manner that was easy for students to understand, using practical examples and real-life scenarios to emphasize the importance of responsible decision-making and respect for the law. The interactive nature of the presentation encouraged students to actively participate and reflect on the consequences of their actions. The awareness program has significantly enhanced our students' knowledge of different types of crimes, their legal implications, and the responsibilities they carry as young citizens.

We firmly believe that programs like these will contribute to reducing behavioural issues and preventing crimes within the school and the community. They empower students to make informed choices, become responsible members of society, and contribute positively to nation-building.

Once again, we extend our sincere appreciation to Captain Namgay Dorji for his valuable talk in educating our students. We look forward to more such meaningful awareness programs in the future.

As part of the Wellbeing Week activities, the students of Class VIII presented a thought-provoking drama on the theme "Be a Buddy, Not a Bully." The performance was engaging, creative, and filled with meaningful messages that highlighted the importance of kindness, empathy, and friendship.

Through their captivating enactment, the students portrayed various forms of bullying and demonstrated how such behaviour can negatively impact others. They also conveyed the powerful message that choosing compassion, respect, and friendship over bullying creates a happier and more inclusive environment for everyone. Their outstanding performance not only entertained the audience but also inspired everyone to become supportive friends and stand against bullying.
