Lhuentse Higher Secondary School

The school joined the nation in celebrating the 36th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen.
All staff and students gathered in the MPH to offer butter lamps and recite Zhabten and prayers, expressing their heartfelt gratitude and sincere wishes for Her Majesty’s long life, good health, and continued well-being.

To mark the auspicious occasion of the coronation of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, coinciding with Social Forestry Day, the student body, led by the student councillors, hosted prayer flags before dawn with great dedication and reverence. The initiative reflected their commitment to nation-building and prayers for peace and prosperity.

In the evening, each student adopted an existing plant on the school campus, promoting self responsibility and care for the environment.

The school wellbeing team conducted a meaningful Focus Parenting session today for parents and guardians. The program began with opening remarks by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between school and home in supporting children’s growth and wellbeing. School Counselor Mr. Dorji Choda presented on “Understanding Adolescence,” highlighting the emotional, social, and behavioral changes during teenage years. Mr. Sherab Gyeltshen shared valuable insights on “Connection Before Correction,” encouraging positive communication and empathy in parenting. Mrs. Ugyen Wangmo concluded the session with a discussion on “Self-Care,” reminding parents to prioritize their own wellbeing while caring for their families.

The School Disaster Focal conducted a disaster awareness program for all staff and students. The session covered emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and safety measures. Fire safety talk and demonstration were conducted by Mr. Rinchen Norbu, while earthquake safety awareness and drills were demonstrated by Mr. Kezang Wangchuk.
