The Gelephu Higher Secondary School family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Mr. Pema Tshering as he embarks on his new journey at Gelephu Lower Secondary School.

Since joining GHSS in 2016, Mr. Pema Tshering has dedicatedly served as a History teacher for Classes IX to XII, inspiring countless students through his commitment, wisdom, and passion for teaching. Beyond the classroom, he played a vital role in nurturing democratic values among students by successfully leading the Democracy Club since his arrival at the school.

His sincerity, leadership, and contributions in carrying out various responsibilities will always be remembered and cherished by the school community. We thank him for his valuable service and wish him continued success, happiness, and good health in his future endeavors.

On 9th May, the Annual Marathon was successfully conducted in alignment with World Malaria Day to promote health awareness, physical fitness, and community participation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and members of the community. The program was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dasho Thrompon, along with his associates and officials, whose presence added significance to the occasion. The marathon aimed to spread awareness about malaria prevention while encouraging healthy lifestyles and teamwork among participants. The event concluded successfully with appreciation extended to all organizers, volunteers, and participants for their active involvement.

Update on World Malaria Day
World Malaria Day was celebrated joyously by GHSS family on the theme; Driven to End Malaria- Now We can, Now We Must!
The celebration witnessed poster competition among 24 classes. Top three classes were awarded prizes they deserved.
We would like to sincerely thank, Health in-charge in particular , the VDCP , Gelephu for supporting our program.

Gelephu Higher Secondary School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sangay Sonam as the Officiating Vice Principal of the school.

Over the years, Mr. Sangay has shown remarkable capability in academic leadership, effective coordination, and school management, earning the respect and trust of colleagues, students, and the wider school community.

We are confident that under his leadership, the school will continue to strive for excellence and achieve greater heights.

Great Responsibility, Greater Power!

Today, Gelephu Higher Secondary School held the Captain Badge Award Ceremony to honor the newly selected student leaders. The school principal and teachers presented badges to the school captains, class captains, prefects, and others, marking their official appointment.
The event celebrated leadership, teamwork, and the spirit of service, motivating all students to contribute positively to the school community.

The program was initiated and organized by the School Democracy Club.

Gelephu Higher Secondary School observed World Autism Awareness Day today under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value.”
The celebration emphasized the importance of recognizing the dignity, uniqueness, and potential of every individual. Through brief awareness activities and speeches, students and teachers reflected on the values of empathy, inclusion, and respect, reinforcing the message that every life truly matters.
