🌏 National Mock Drill Day – 21 September 2026
Bhutan experienced a magnitude 5.6 earthquake near Punakha on 7 June 2026, and more recently, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake in Bhutan on 19 September 2026.

Today, under the coordination of Mr. Rada Tenzin, Disaster Focal Person, Bjishong CS conducted an earthquake mock drill to strengthen our preparedness, awareness, and emergency response.

The importance of such drills goes beyond earthquakes and beyond daytime preparedness. Emergencies can occur anytime—day or night.

These experiences remind us that preparedness must become a habit. Through regular drills, we learn to stay calm, respond quickly, protect one another, and act safely during emergencies.

The Disaster Focal Person aims to build a culture of continuous preparedness—not only during class hours, but also in the evening and at night. Disasters can occur at any time and in many forms, including earthquakes, GLOF, fire, landslides, and other emergencies.

Preparedness today builds resilience and saves lives tomorrow. 🙏🌏💪

🌟 Celebrating Academic Excellence at Bjishong CS 🌟

Today, we were honoured to celebrate the achievement of seven students who were recipients of the King’s Certificate of Academic Excellence.

The programme began with the warm reception of Dasho Dzongdag and the Chief Dzongkhag Education Officer, followed by the offering of Marchang, butter lamps, and Zhabten. The programme then continued with the awarding of certificates to the deserving recipients, followed by an inspiring address from Dasho Dzongdag.

👏 Congratulations to all seven recipients on this remarkable achievement. May this recognition inspire them to continue striving for excellence, remain grounded in Bhutanese values, and become an inspiration to their peers. 🇧🇹✨

🌟 Awareness on Cyberbullying and Bullying🌟

Today, we were truly privileged to have Dasho Drangpon of Gasa Dzongkhag with us to create awareness on laws related to media literacy, cyberbullying, and bullying.

The insightful session helped our students understand the importance of responsible media use, respecting others, knowing their rights and responsibilities, and creating a safe and supportive school community. Dasho’s valuable insights and guidance will certainly inspire our students to become more responsible and mindful digital citizens. 🙏

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dasho Drangpon for taking the time to share such meaningful knowledge and guidance with our students. We also sincerely appreciate the efforts of Mr. Sangay Khandu, Law Club Coordinator, and the Law Club members for coordinating and making this important awareness programme possible.

Celebrating National Voting Day & International Democracy Day at Bjishong CS 🗳️🌏

Today, under the coordination of Mr. Dorji Phub, Social Area Coordinator, Bjishong CS proudly celebrated National Voting Day alongside International Democracy Day with a meaningful and inspiring programme.

We were truly privileged and honoured to welcome Dasho Dzongdag of Gasa Dzongkhag as the Chief Guest, along with esteemed officials from the Dzongkhag Administration, to grace the occasion and mark this important day with us. 🙏

The programme began with the warm reception of Dasho Dzongdag, followed by the offering of Marchang, Butter Lamp and Zhabten, seeking blessings and guidance for the occasion. The event then continued with a welcome speech by the School Principal, followed by an insightful address from Dasho Dzongdag on the significance and importance of the day.

The programme also featured the message from the Election Commission of Bhutan, delivered by Dasho Dzongdag, followed by the taking of the Oath, reminding our students of their important roles and responsibilities as future citizens of our country. 🇧🇹

To further engage and inspire our students, an Online Quiz Competition and Poster Presentation were organised for students of Grades VII–IX. The students demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity and a growing understanding of democracy and responsible citizenship. Their efforts were recognised with certificates of participation and cash prizes. 🏆📜

The programme concluded with a concluding speech by the School Vice Principal, bringing the meaningful celebration to a close.

🙏 Our heartfelt gratitude to Dasho Dzongdag and all the officials from Gasa Dzongkhag for taking the time to join us and make the celebration truly special. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the School Principal, Vice Principal, Mr. Dorji Phub, teachers, staff and students for their valuable contributions in making the programme a success.

Yesterday, under the leadership of our School Counselor Mrs. Sangay Om, we came together to mark Su***de Prevention Day. The program shed light on different perspectives surrounding su***de and its profound impacts on individuals and communities.
One of the most significant moments was the offering of butter lamps, symbolizing hope and commitment. Mentors held the lamps as a pledge to guide and support our students with compassion and care.
The inclusion of religious perspectives added depth to the mentorship journey, reminding us of the spiritual strength that can help heal and uplift lives.
