๐Ÿงก Gerald Cash Primary Supports World Su***de Prevention Day ๐Ÿงก
Today, the Gerald Cash Primary School family proudly stood in solidarity in support of World Su***de Prevention Day. Our staff wore orange as a symbol of hope, awareness, compassion, and support for mental wellness.
Students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 also participated in an informative and age-appropriate seminar facilitated by our guest speaker, Ms. Donna Bastian. The session encouraged our students to understand the importance of expressing their feelings, seeking help when needed, supporting others, and remembering that every life matters.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Bastian for sharing such an important message with our Jaguars. Together, we continue to build a school community where everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and supported.

What an incredible cultural experience for the Gerald Cash Primary School Rake & Scrape Band! The crowd was excited, engaged and thoroughly entertained as our students showcased the vibrant sounds of Bahamian Rake & Scrape. What an awesome group of young performers! Their confidence, enthusiasm and talent were truly a joy to see.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mr. Leadon, who leads our Rake & Scrape Band, and Mrs. Rolle for accompanying and supporting our students. Your time, dedication and commitment to developing their talents are greatly appreciated. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ“š GERALD CASH PRIMARY ON THE MORNING BLEND! ๐Ÿ†โœจ

What an exciting way to celebrate International Literacy Day 2026!

Gerald Cash Primary School was delighted to appear on The Morning Blend on 96.9 FM, where we had the opportunity to highlight the importance of literacy and this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œLiteracy for People, the Planet and Prosperity.โ€ ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“–

Representing our Jaguar family were Principal Mrs. Avinel Newball-Smith, Literacy Coordinator and Teacher of the Year 2027โ€“2030 Ms. Robynn Meadows and Grade 5 student Zion Saunders.

โญ Zion confidently read Horton Hatches the Egg and the important lessons he learned from the story: โ€œDonโ€™t give upโ€ and โ€œWhen you have a job to do, do it well.โ€

๐Ÿ“š Ms. Meadows also shared a meaningful poem directed to parents, emphasizing the important role families play in developing and encouraging young readers.

A heartfelt thank you to The Morning Blend and 96.9 FM for welcoming our Jaguars and giving us the opportunity to share our message with the wider community.

At Gerald Cash Primary, we believe that every child can become a confident reader, thinker, and leader!

DAY 2 IN THE BOOKS ๐Ÿ†

What an electric day two of Staff Development Week! Our Jaguars came in ready to learn, grow, and roar a little louder.

We opened in devotions and praise, then dove straight into "From Results to Response: Making the Data Work for Us" with Mr. Dion Johnson, Senior Master โ€” turning data into direction for the classroom. Mrs. Joy Rolle followed with "Setting Goals, Shaping Success," reminding us that vision needs a plan behind it.

After a quick break and a fun ice breaker led by Mrs. Gerona Jagroo, Ms. Alexis Gardiner of Sybil Strachan Primary took us through "Beat the Block: Mastering the Reading Block" โ€” practical, hands-on strategies our teachers can use right away. We closed out with Ms. Nikera Culmer's "Technology That Makes a Difference," equipping our staff with tools for a stronger classroom.

And yes... our mascot made an appearance today! ๐Ÿ† The pride showed up and showed OUT!

Another powerful day for our Jaguar family. On to Day 3!

Orientation Day 1 ๐ŸŒŸ

What an amazing start to the new school year at Gerald Cash Primary School!

From inspiring words of encouragement by Minister Bell, to a warm welcome from DS Butler and a special call from Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Education, Science and Technology Hon. Chester Cooper, our staff felt appreciated and motivated.

We were excited to hear from our new Principal, Mrs. Newball-Smith, who led our first SWOT session, while Dr. Alvin Hepburn shared nine powerful focus points for the year ahead. VP Burrell-Roberts guided us in shaping our school vision and guest presenters, Senior Teacher Clarinda Ramsey and TOY Denise Hanna provided practical strategies for classroom success.

As we move forward together, we proudly embrace our 2026-2027 theme: โ€œIt takes a team to inspire a dreamโ€ฆ Donโ€™t believe me, just watch!!โ€

The energy was high, the learning was meaningful and the future is bright!

Bring on Day 2! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ“–
