First AID Tip of the Day
Heat Exhaustion: caused by prolong exposure to warm,humid temperatures and dehydration. Signs & Symptoms include
Heavy Sweating
Pale cool sweaty skin
Dizziness & Feeling weak
Treatment:
Remove the person from the hot environment
Have the person sit or lay in a position of comfort
Cool the person by spraying them or using wet cloths
Give a sports drink or water to re-hydrate.
Note: Don't give anything to drink if the person seems confused or has difficulty swallowing. If unsure weather the person is improving activate E.M.S.
Special Considerations: Children & the Elderly are more likely to experience a heat emergency.

Did you know the new G2015 guidelines are here and in effect. These guidelines state weather or not a medical certification such as First Aid & CPR is valid. As of June the changes came into effect. All programs & instructor must update in order to remind valid. For more information on these changes & finding a valid course type your email below, and the guidelines will be emailed to you free of charge. Don't get caught in the dark!
