Celebrating Our Entangled Islands 🇮🇪🇧🇸

Today we had the privilege of celebrating “Entangled Islands,” a special commemoration of the rich Irish heritage woven into the history and culture of The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

Through Irish music, traditional Irish dance, and a performance by our very own Emerald Dancers, we explored the beautiful ways in which Bahamas and Ireland intersect, influence, and coexist. 💚

This celebration holds a special meaning for Xavier’s Lower School. Nearly 200 years ago, Catholic Irish nuns came to The Bahamas and played a foundational role in establishing our school, leaving a legacy that continues to shape our community today.

We are proud to honour this shared history and the cultural connections that make our story so unique.

One Faith. One Light. One Journey.

Yesterday, September 4th, our school community gathered in faith and gratitude for our Opening Mass, as we begin another year of learning, growing, and walking together as one community.

Guided by this year’s theme, “One Faith, One Light, One Journey,” we are reminded that although each of us has a unique path, we are united by our faith, called to be a light to one another, and blessed to journey together. 💚

As we begin this new school year, may God guide our students, teachers, staff, and families with wisdom, strength, and grace. May our faith shine brightly in all that we do and may this journey be filled with purpose, joy, and growth.
