Day Two Back-to-School Orientation: Excellence Begins With Me

Day Two of our Back-to-School Orientation continued to inspire and equip us for a successful school year under the theme "Excellence Begins With Me." The day's sessions provided valuable insights and practical strategies that will strengthen our teaching practices and enhance student learning.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Nikera Culmer, Senior Mistress of Sybil Strachan Primary School, for her informative presentation on The Importance of Routines. She reminded us that consistent routines create structure, foster positive behavior, and establish an environment where students can thrive.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Kara Johnson-Forbes for her engaging session on The Reading Block, where she emphasized the importance of intentional literacy instruction and effective strategies to support students' reading development.

Special thanks to Ms. Clarinda M. Ramsey for her insightful presentation on Classroom Management. Her practical approaches reinforced the importance of creating respectful, organized, and engaging classrooms that promote both learning and student success.

We were especially honored to be visited by members of the Eastern New Providence Primary District leadership:

Today marked a positive and inspiring start to the new school year as staff gathered for our Back-to-School Orientation under the theme, "Excellence Begins With Me." The day focused on preparing us for a successful year by emphasizing personal responsibility, professionalism, teamwork, and our shared commitment to student

The orientation provided an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, welcome new team members, and strengthen our resolve to working collaboratively. As we begin this new academic year, we are encouraged to lead by example, inspire our students, and strive for excellence in everything we do.

Together, we look forward to a productive, rewarding, and successful school year.

Dear Preschool and Grade 1 Parents,

You are cordially invited to bring your child, that's entering preschool and grade 1, to our Orientation of Students as we prepare them for an exciting new school year. This session is an opportunity for them to meet their teacher, learn about classroom expectations and routines, and for you to receive important information that will help ensure a successful start to the new year. Your child does NOT need to wear school uniform.
