L.W. Young Golden Eagles

Yesterday was another hot hottt one in The Eagle's Nest, after the electricity went off; teachers made adjustments and moved their classes outside. It was a beautiful sight and students appeared to be more comfortable and settled.

Congratulations to Coach S. Rolle and Coach Brandon on leading our pennant winning, and championship winning girls soccer team this season. Grade 9 student Mya Bowe was outstanding and was awarded the MVP award. Two claps for Eagles...clap clap...SOAR..

This week, school attendance officer Mr. Small and school resource officer Stubbs made a donation of soccer balls and a pump to students. Our lunch time soccer players took time out to say thank you and show their appreciation. Another anti-bullying initiative to keep students engaged.

Harvesting time in the agriculture department as it was time to perfect the art of slaughtering chicken. These students are on the way to becoming independent and self sufficient. Experience is the best teacher.

Thank you to our community partners and leaders who support the L. W. Young school family. Education is more than lessons in a classroom and you have helped us to add to the experiences of our teachers and students.
