Bridging the Gap Bahamas.

In 2019 The Bahamas made history at their tree lighting ceremony. For the first time, the disabled community was not only included in the event, but we were included in the ornaments. During that year's Christmas tree lighting ceremony, we honoured the community by placing our ornament on the National tree. Thanks to Erin Brown Connects, the only disability consultant in the region the ministry made this happen. We also had support from the International disabled community. A memorable year indeed. The restrooms were close, we had disabled friendly seating and a shuttle service to accommodate the elderly and disabled. Mrs. Rowena Poitier-Sutherland ensured that this was the most inclusive/accessible national event that our country ever had. I'm hoping for days like this again.
