Today, the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints proudly collaborated with Campus Police and Security Services and Business Enterprise to facilitate an Employee Training and Recognition Seminar for Business Enterprise and Campus Police and Security Services staff.

This initiative created a valuable opportunity for professional development, engagement, and appreciation as staff members gathered to strengthen their skills, enhance workplace collaboration, and recognize the importance of their contributions to the university community.

The featured speakers for this event were, Simmone Bowe, Dr. Janelle Cambridge, and Dr. Deidre Moss.

On Monday, April 13th, 2026, the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints hosted the second session of our Conflict Management & Conflict Resolution seminar series. This First Year Seminar series was facilitated in collaboration with the University Centre for Counselling and Career Services.

In the second session of our seminar series, we focused on “Effective Strategies for Conflict Resolution.” During this session, we emphasized strategies such as active listening, understanding differing viewpoints, managing emotions, and effective communication.

Highlights from “Marketing Yourself to Businesses” Event ✨

Hosted by The University of The Bahamas Student Government Association in collaboration with the School of Business, this impactful session focused on the power of personal branding and preparing students for the professional world.

Dr. Deidre Moss, Adjunct Lecturer and Assistant Director of the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints, led an engaging discussion on how to effectively market yourself to businesses—highlighting the important connection between student conduct and professional success.

We were also honored to hear from an incredible lineup of presenters: Tyrhonda Glinton, Founder of FEMSTEM Bahamas, Senator Michela Barnett-Ellis, Attorney-at-Law, Graham Thompson and Ian Ferguson, CEO, Tourism Development Corporation.

Each speaker shared valuable insights and real-world experiences that left a lasting impact on our students.

On Monday, March 30th, 2026, the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints hosted the first session of our Conflict Management & Conflict Resolution seminar series. This First Year Seminar series is a collaborative effort between the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints and the University Centre for Counselling and Career Services.

The first session in this series, “Effective Strategies for Conflict Management,” focused on building students’ awareness and understanding of how to navigate conflict in a proactive and constructive way. Discussions explored key strategies such as recognizing sources of conflict, managing emotional responses, communicating effectively, and addressing issues before they escalate.

Dr. Deidre Moss, Assistant Director of the Office of Student Conduct and Complaints, served as the presenter for this session, guiding students through practical approaches that can be applied in both academic and personal settings.
