The University of the West Indies Global Campus Bahamas proudly hosted its First Annual College and Career Fair on March 4–5, 2026, on the campus grounds, and what an incredible success it was! 🎓✨

Over the two-day event, we were delighted to welcome students and educators from both public and private schools across New Providence. The campus was filled with energy as students had the opportunity to explore a variety of academic and career pathways.

We were also honored to have the support of numerous local businesses, organizations, and corporate partners who participated by sharing valuable information, career insights, and opportunities with our young people. Their presence helped guide and inspire students as they begin to think about their future careers and professional journeys.

Events like these highlight the importance of collaboration between education and industry, ensuring that our students are exposed to the many possibilities available to them as they prepare for the world of work and higher education.

A heartfelt thank you to all the schools, vendors, partners, and volunteers who contributed to making this inaugural event such a meaningful and impactful experience.

We are excited about the future and look forward to welcoming everyone back for an even bigger and better College and Career Fair in 2027! 🎉📚

On Friday, February 13, 2026, The University of the West Indies proudly hosted the Autism Professional Development Graduation for Cohort 1 at the Learning Resources Unit Section — marking a groundbreaking achievement for our nation.

This programme, the first of its kind in The Bahamas, was birthed out of a vision by Mrs. Bridgette Cooper, Head of the UWI Global Campus Site, Bahamas. Recognizing the urgent need for greater training, awareness, and understanding of the autistic community, she championed this initiative to ensure educators and professionals are better equipped to support students with autism across our islands. Her commitment to inclusive education is helping to transform lives and classrooms throughout The Bahamas. 🇧🇸

We were deeply humbled to have as our guest speaker, Carlton Pinder, Founder and CEO of Pure Life International, who delivered powerful and inspiring remarks that reminded us of the importance of purpose-driven service and community support.

We were also honored by the presence of our distinguished special guests:
• Nicole Phillips, Acting Director of UWI
• Terrice Curry, Deputy Director, Ministry of Education
• Leja Burrows, Assistant Director of Education
• Agatha Archer, President of the Council for Preschool Teachers
• Dr. Mortimer Moxey, President of the UWI Alumni Association
• Dwayne Gibson, Chairman of REACH

Cohort 1 has set the standard for excellence, compassion, and advocacy. This graduation represents more than certificates — it represents a movement toward greater inclusion, understanding, and empowerment for the autistic community in The Bahamas.

Congratulations to all our graduates! The work you have begun will impact generations to come. 🌟💙
