Mangrove Cay High was proudly selected as one of only three island schools to compete in the 2nd Annual Ethan S. Bain Speech Competition under the powerful theme: “It’s My Environment: Conservation and Sustainability are Our Responsibility.” 🌿💚

Our talented students traveled to New Providence to compete at C. C. Sweeting Senior High School, and they made us incredibly proud! Out of six passionate speakers representing Mangrove Cay, two—Kayleaser Moss and Kevanique Greene—rose to the top and advanced to the Top 12 Finalists! 🎤🔥
(We were the only school to have two students from the same school make the Top 12—now that’s excellence!)

And the excitement didn’t stop there…
Kayleaser Moss captured the 2nd Place Runner-Up title!

Huge congratulations to all of our outstanding competitors Sherique Robinson, Preveya Moxey, Kierra Green, and M’Leyah Major—your dedication and courage made Mangrove Cay proud!

What an incredible day of pride, achievement, and inspiration! We came together to honor our shining stars—students who made the Honor Roll, excelled as Most Outstanding and Most Improved in their subjects for the 2025 Summer semester. Additionally, we honor those stepping boldly into leadership as our new Student Monitors and Prefects for the 2025-2026 academic school year.

A HUGE congratulations to our newly installed head prefect, namely, Andre Bowleg – Head Boy and Ramon Nairn – Deputy Head Boy. Your journey of leadership has officially begun!

We also extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this celebration unforgettable inclusive of the Island Administrator Mr. Leonardo Dames Jr.., Chief Councilor Mr. Andy Bowleg, PTA President Ms. Maliancha Major, the guest speaker Anatol Young, our dedicated teachers & support staff, proud parents and our amazing community.

Our Senior Girls made us proud as Runners-Up in both the District Volleyball and Basketball Championships, as well as the 24th Danny Pratt Tournament! 💪✨

We extend a huge shoutout to our Senior Boys — District Volleyball and Basketball Champions AND 24th Danny Pratt Tournament Champions! 🏆🔥

This exciting event was held at the South Andros Multipurpose Gymnasium, bringing together schools from Mangrove Cay, Central Andros, North Andros, Berry Islands, and South Andros for an unforgettable competition! 🏐🏀

What an incredible day! 🎉 Our 5K Fun Run/Walk from the Mangrove Cay High School to the B.T.C. office was a huge success thanks to the energy and support of our amazing teachers and staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents. 💙

A special shoutout to Coach Jenoure and Assistant Coach Mr. Robinson for their outstanding coordination and leadership in making this event possible. 🙌

Together, we celebrated health, teamwork, and community spirit. 💪🏽👏

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers, dedicated staff, and supportive parents who made our first P.T.A meeting of the school year a success. We were delighted to see such a strong turnout, with a wonderful number of parents in attendance showing their support. Special appreciation goes out to our P.T.A President, Maliancha Major, and her executive team for their outstanding leadership and commitment. Together, we’re making a difference for our students as we continue to insist upon excellence.

Mangrove Cay High School hosted this year’s Royal Bahamas Defense Force Rangers’ Passing Out Parade 🫡. A total of 8 students were installed as cadets inclusive of Gabe Gray, M’Leyah Major, Kierra Greene, Cleshawn Newton, Cierra Greene, Ajay Brown, Kaiden Evans and Ramon Nairn 👏🏽. Other previously installed cadets such as Andre Bowleg, Taryn Green, Lauryn Green, Dionisio Lockhart, Kaiden Adderley, Tyrell Anderson, Thor Armbrister and Jakeem Green, also participated in this exercise👏🏽. During this passing out parade, our 12th grader Gemia Neely, officially graduated from the program. She was the recipient of the Minister of National Security Award 🏆and the Commadore’s Academic Achievement Award for obtaining the highest GPA 🎖️. We wish to congratulate all of our Ranger Cadets and thank all that attended this event.🙋🏽‍♂️

Once again, Mangrove Cay High School participated in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival 🎊 and is now featured in The Bahamas Information Services newsletter 🗞️and the Tribute newspaper. 📰 During the competition, our students sang 🎤, dance 💃 and performed dramtic speeches 🗣️. Making this all possible is our coordinator Ms. Johnson 👩🏽‍🏫 who worked continuously and tirelessly with the students.👏🏽

Ahoy, maties! 🏴‍☠️ We want to share with you highlights of famous pirates who stopped by at Mangrove Cay High School today. Pirates inclusive of Blackbeard (Edward Teach), Calico Jack (John Rackham), Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Benjamin Hornigold, etc., put on a spectacular modeling show for 8th grade students of Social Studies which was hosted by their teacher Ms Johnson.
