🧡 WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY 2026 | JHJHS 🧡

Today, Thursday, September 10, 2026, Jack Hayward Junior High School joined the global community in recognizing World Su***de Prevention Day. Staff were encouraged to wear orange as a visible symbol of hope, awareness, compassion, and support for those whose lives have been affected by su***de.

During lunchtime, our Guidance Department held a special balloon release in remembrance of those we have lost to su***de, in support of individuals and families impacted by su***de, and in recognition of those courageously fighting leukemia. 🎈🧡

Every balloon represented a message of hope, remembrance, strength, and love. Minister Tracey McAlpine prayed over our students, those lost to su***de and those fighting leukemia. Today served as an important reminder to our students and staff that kindness matters, checking on one another matters, and asking for help is a sign of courage.

At JHJHS, we want every student to know: You matter. Your story matters. Your life matters. You are not alone. If you are struggling, please reach out and tell a counselor, teacher, trusted adult, parent, or guardian.

Together, we can start conversations, spread awareness, support one another, and help prevent su***de. 🧡

Different struggles. Same hope. Let their light rise. 🎈

We were pleased to welcome the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, the Hon. I. Chester Cooper, to our school campus for a tour of the grounds and to assess the progress of the ongoing school repairs.
We appreciate his visit and continued attention to the improvement of our school environment. 🏫✨

📚✨ Celebrating Literacy Day! ✨📚
Today, our Language Department came together to celebrate the joy and importance of reading and literacy. Our students had the opportunity to engage in fun and meaningful activities that encouraged a love for books, learning, and storytelling.
A special thank you to our dedicated teachers and students for making Literacy Day a wonderful and memorable experience. Let’s continue to inspire our young minds to read, explore, imagine, and achieve! 📖💙

✨ A Wonderful First Day Back! ✨

What a great way to welcome our Grade 7 students back to school for the 2026–2027 academic year! We were pleased to receive a courtesy visit from the Honourable Ginger Moxey, Member of Parliament for Pineridge Constituency & Minister for Grand Bahama, along with Mrs. Manecia Pratt, District Superintendent for the Grand Bahama, Bimini & The Cays District, and Inspector Carlton Butler of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

Their presence and words of encouragement helped set a positive tone as we begin another school year. We look forward to a year filled with growth, achievement, purpose, and success. 🌟💙
