..,When you slide your jaw forwards with the front teeth touching,
they should “guide” the rear teeth apart — i.e. slide forwards
and your molars should separate immediately. Some people call
this protrusive guidance and use the term “anterior guidance”
to encompass both canine guidance and protrusive guidance. It
can also be described by the way it separates the back teeth
using the term “posterior disclusion”.
Molars have relatively short roots (compared to your front
teeth) and are only good at taking forces that are on their
longitudinal axis. Also, the force generated on the molars can
be up to 12 times greater than that exerted on the front teeth
— under this amount of force you clearly want to avoid molars
rubbing together in ways that give off-axis forces. With
anterior guidance the molars are protected from the back teeth
hitting each other’s forward and backward slopes.

devem se tocar, “guiando” os dentes de trás para longe – ou
seja, deslizar para a frente os molares devem se separar
imediatamente. Algumas pessoas chamam isso de orientação
protrusiva e usam o termo “guia anterior” para abranger tanto
a guia canina de lateralidade quanto a protrusiva. Também pode
ser descrito como desilusão posterior .
Os molares têm raízes relativamente curtas (em comparação com
os dentes anteriores) e só são bons em suportar forças que
estão no seu eixo longitudinal. Além disso, a força gerada nos
molares pode ser até 12 vezes maior do que a exercida nos
dentes anteriores – devido esta quantidade de força deve,
claramente, evitar que os molares se toquem de maneira que
produzam forças fora do longo eixo. Com a guia anterior, os
molares ficam protegidos contra os dentes posteriores
antagonistas aliviando do estresse durante movimentos
