Dear colleague,

We are delighted to invite you to the I Latin American Powder Diffraction Conference (LAPDiC 2025), the first international event in Latin America dedicated exclusively to the field of powder diffraction, including X-ray and neutron-based techniques. The conference will be held from October 11–14, 2025, in Fortaleza, CE, Brazil, as part of the joint program with the VII Latin American Crystallographic Association (LACA) and the XXVII Brazilian Crystallographic Association (ABCr) Meetings.

LAPDiC aims to bring together researchers working with structure determination, quantitative phase analysis, Rietveld refinement, total scattering, pair distribution function analysis, and other modern diffraction methodologies applied to materials science, pharmaceuticals, catalysis, and emerging functional materials. The event will feature:
Plenary and invited lectures by leading international and Latin American experts in powder diffraction
Thematic sessions and workshops, with practical and theoretical content
Poster presentations for young researchers and students
LAPDiC School: hands-on training courses on pair distribution function (PDF) analysis
Travel bursaries to support the broad and inclusive participation of students

LAPDiC will take place just before the LACA/ABCr joint meeting (October 13–17, 2025), and participants are encouraged to attend both events.

Join us in Fortaleza, a vibrant coastal city renowned for its beaches, hospitality, and cultural life, and be part of this landmark event for the powder diffraction community in Latin America.
