“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

“Eu não falhei. Eu apenas encontrei 10.000 maneiras que não funcionam.”

Versão com a ideia completa (como um pequeno discurso motivacional)

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.
Eu não falhei. Eu apenas encontrei 10.000 maneiras que não funcionam.

Então, se você tem medo de fracassar ou de falhar, lembre-se disso:
cada tentativa que não dá certo é apenas um passo a mais no caminho da solução.

Essa frase ficou famosa porque resume a mentalidade experimental de Edison: erro como parte do processo de inovação — algo muito presente em engenharia, ciência e desenvolvimento tecnológico.

🔁 Repeated Actions

The telephone has *rung* again — tocou de novo — and again, and again.

I’ve called my friend twice this week — twice.

I’ve seen this movie several times.
So, The Matrix — have you seen it?

How many times have you seen this movie — this movie, The Matrix?
How many times have you seen it?
How many times have you seen it?

Oh, I’ve seen it several times — diversas vezes.

My son Leonardo loves a movie — I think it’s called The Last Samurai, is that right?

So, how many times has Leo seen it?
Oh, he’s seen it several times. He loves it.

🔁 Repeated action.

🎙️ Episode Introduction – Present Perfect

This episode is about something very, very important for you.

And I promise that today, you will learn when to use the present perfect.

Why don’t most people sound natural?
It’s because they don’t master this verb tense.

Students have been studying English for many, many years.
They learn grammar, they memorize verb lists and vocabulary, but they don’t truly understand how time works in English.

So, I promise—I’ll fix that today.

You will learn:
• when to use the present perfect
• why native speakers use it all the time
• and how you can start using it today

Yes, the correct command is:

✨ Lie down, Cher!
✨ Deite-se, “Cher”!

Simple. Elegant. Powerful. 💫

Language is more than words… it carries tone, intention, and emotion.

25/03/2026

Key point:
• Lie = you are doing the reclining yourself → no object needed.
• Lay = you are placing something else → needs an object.

2️⃣ Why it’s “lie down” here

When you tell someone to relax and rest:

“Take a moment to lie down.” ✅

You are reclining yourself, so no object is involved → lie is correct.

Incorrect:

“Take a moment to lay down.” ❌ (This would mean you are placing something else down, which doesn’t make sense here.)

3️⃣ Quick tip

Think:
• I lie down → I am resting myself.
• I lay the pillow down → I am placing the pillow.

✨ Present Perfect & News ✨

We use the present perfect when the information is new, recent, and the exact time is not important.

📰 The focus is on the result, not when it happened.

👉 The company has announced a new product.
👉 Apple Inc. has announced a new product.
👉 Scientists have discovered a new planet.

No time expressions.
No “yesterday.”
No “last week.”

Because the impact is what matters.
The news is alive in the present moment. 🌍

Grammar with meaning.
English with awareness.

✨ Present Perfect in Real Life ✨

“My car broke down.”
Past simple. Just information.

“My car has broken down.”
Present perfect. Why?

Because it’s a past event
with a present result.

🚗 The action happened before.
🚕 The consequence is now.

I’ll have to take a taxi.
Why?

Because my car has broken down.

Again:
His car has broken down.
He’ll have to take a taxi.

Past action.
Present consequence.

That’s the power of the present perfect —
it connects what happened
to what is happening now. ✨

Grammar with meaning.
English with awareness.
