Some previously unseen photos of April's trip to the Ibiuna Municipal School. The SSC will be returning there for more hard work late September.
It is definitely tough and requires effort but each and every one of us get an amazing feeling at accomplishment when looking at such positive results.

Today's Swimathon was an enormous success. Results and the total raised will be released very soon, but meanwhile a huge thank you to Callum Thomas, Alice Lunardelli, Gustavo Borges, Cacau Chakmati and Gioby Pedrinola, all from year 10, who worked at their hardest today in the name of charity. Also, another huge thank you to Mr. Moss, the PE Department and everyone involved as this would not have been possible without them.
Congratulations St Nicks community and thanks for your great support!

By the way, there will be a Swimathon, very soon.....
Students involved will be payed to swim laps on the 25m body tech pool. The minimum will be R$0.25 per lap. The money will be raised for future projects. More information will come soon.
16th Meeting agenda
LASC feedback:
Looking at the implementation of changes to PSHE, and the exchange of Student Council ideas with other schools.
Matters Arising:
• AC remotes are missing from most classes. The Building Committee will look into buying Universal controls that will work for all AC’s.
• The Music (2) Room and the Performance Room have mould problems. The carpets should be removed and the floor needs to be cleaned to solve the issue. The Building Committee will look into solving this mould problem.
• There should be a bell in the new synthetic court. Again, the Building Committee will meet to discuss putting a bell in the synthetic court, as well as other locations around the school where the bell cannot be heard.
• The AC’s in L2 and ICT1 smell bad and need to be cleaned. The Building Committee is going to find solutions to cleaning these AC’s, and many others which are having the same problems.
• Lessons at Body Tech should be optional. Alice will look into this.
• The school should create long swimming shorts for boys to wear during P.E sessions in Body Tech. Alice will look into this.
• A wider range of ECA’s should be available. If there are certain ECA’s that a group of people want, they should talk to the ECA coordinator or other teachers.
• Logos should be created to represent our different Houses, and these logos can be put on House t-shirts. Alice will look into this.
Ongoing Projects:
• New school notebooks should be designed with hard covers and spiral spines. The notebooks that we currently have are made poorly, and new notebooks with hard covers and spiral spines will last longer. This project will remain ongoing.
• Red Nose Day – Lucas Bender will speak about this. The next Red Nose Day will occur on the 13th of March, 2015. Once the Student Council has official permission to organise this event, planning will take place.
• Teachers at parent’s meetings should have timers and alarms so they do not go over their time limits. An email has been sent to Ms Makhan addressing the issues that Parent Meeting´s pose. Feedback concerning possible solutions will be given next week.
Committee Feedback:
• The ‘Technology Improvement Committee’ has met and sent out a survey. The Technology Improvement Committee will create a report and provide feedback next week.
• The Food Improvement survey will be sent out this week through a varying amount of mediums. The SC encourages everyone to provide their opinions and complete the survey to ensure better results.
• Student Council Tuck-Shop. The Finance Committee will meet this week to address the SC Tuck-Shop. Feedback will be given in next week’s meeting.
AOB:
• Committees formed: The Student Council will only develop if proper committees are created for each problem. These committees should consist of as many people required, and the leader of the respective committee will answer back to Executives and speak in Meetings. No student should be in charge of one problem, or carry our one action, on their own.
