Boosting Ammonia Electrosynthesis from N2 Reduction via Control of Electrolyte Physicochemical Properties Using Water-in-Salt Electrolytes (WISEs) 05/05/2026

Estamos na ACS Electrochemistry!!!! Lindo trabalho sobre a formação de amonia verde!!!

Boosting Ammonia Electrosynthesis from N2 Reduction via Control of Electrolyte Physicochemical Properties Using Water-in-Salt Electrolytes (WISEs) The electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) offers an attractive, sustainable alternative to the energy-intensive Haber–Bosch process for ammonia synthesis. While catalyst design remains crucial, recent reports have highlighted the critical role of electrolyte physicochemical properties...

It is a great honor for me to participate as a Plenary Speaker at the 5th Symposium on Ammonia Energy (SoAE 2026), which will take place in Santiago, Chile, from September 28 to 30, 2026.
SoAE has become one of the leading international meetings dedicated to the development of ammonia as an energy vector, bringing together researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers from around the world.
I look forward to sharing recent advances in this field and engaging with the global community working to accelerate the energy transition.
I warmly invite you to join us at SoAE 2026 and contribute with your research and perspectives.

We are excited to announce that applications for the 20th PTASE – FAPESP São Paulo Advanced School on Electrochemistry (SPASE) are now officially open!

Hosted by the University of São Paulo (USP), this intensive program will take place from December 2nd to 11th, 2026. This is a unique opportunity for graduate students and early-career researchers to engage in high-level lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and networking with global experts in the field.

Prof. Ivonne (Universidad de Pamplona, Pamplona, Colombia), who was a postdoctoral researcher at IQUSP in our laboratory (LME), has just published another paper resulting from her work with us. Congratulations, Ivonne! This new study focuses on silicon negative electrodes for lithium batteries and ionic liquids as electrolytes.

Another paper out on transformation materials for lithium batteries – this time using microtomography to look into sulfur reduction. This work came out of a great collaboration with the Institute for Electrochemical Energy Storage in Berlin, through the BEPE FAPESP program that supported to spend a year there. Huge thanks to everyone who made this work happen!!!

We’re in JALCOM with a new publication on lithium intercalation in high-entropy oxides! 🚀 This work comes from a great collaboration between our research group, the teams at Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Tecnológica del Chocó in Colombia, and our colleagues at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics and IKERBASQUE in Spain. Big thanks to everyone for the amazing teamwork! 🙌
