Bioscience Channel

The Bioscience Channel is a scientific channel produced in Brazil, aiming to share good news in science. Welcome! Welcome to Bioscience Channel (BSChannel)!

This channel has three main purposes:

1. To provide scientific bases to undergraduate and graduate students – with the biggest references – mainly in histological, molecular and cell biology;
2. To share good news obtained from high level references in science, especially neuroscience, such as adult neurogenesis field.
3. To allow an inter-communication between people from the entire world, keeping them together in a cybernetic place for one common objective: learn science. The English language is the official language of the science, and all those that intend to do science, also need to know this language. Indeed, the universal language in science is unique, and amazing! We publish and read scientific papers in a same language around the world, and we communicate each other through the same language, worldwide. For those with a deficit in this regard, here is a great way to practice/improve their knowledge! The BSChannel will post videos in both languages (English and Portuguese) with both subtitle options. The BSChannel classes are slide-based, and some videos of the channel are also composed by animated videos explained and subtitled. I hope to facilitate some matters through short teaching videos and provide lectures with science/neuroscience regards, especially “all” contents and news in the adult neurogenesis field (neoformation of neurons in the adult mammalian brain). I hope also to provide an inter-communication between people studying and working in sciences worldwide, allowing them to know others institutes, labs and research lines. Olá pessoal!

Neste final de semana, apresento-vos o projeto Canal Biociências, a versão em português do projeto Bioscience Channel.

[ATENÇÃO: O projeto Bioscience Channel ficará temporariamente sem movimento em virtude do trabalho no conteúdo periódico do canal em português].

Neste canal serão disponibilizadas palestras, aulas, e vídeos legendados sobre ciências aplicada à saúde. Os tópicos principais serão: ciência (aspectos gerais), biologia celular, biologia molecular, histologia e neurociência, visando sempre conceitos básicos ou novidades sobre estes temas.

Cellular therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. Different sources of cells give rise to neural precursor cells (NPCs), the most common stem cell source to get neurons for neurodegenerative disorders cellular therapy. NPCs can be provided directly by fetal tissue graft or indirectly by somatic and stem cell differentiation. Genetic reprogramming of somatic cells originates induced neuronal (iN) cells directly or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) that can be differentiated into NPCs. Another class of stem cell, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), can be directly used in patient treatment.

Surely, this is an unusual video because it’s just an introduction about the BioScience Channel project.

The sound (microphone) not came out very good because I used the microphone of the camera itself. But I've already provided the microphone suitable for classing / lectures.

Unfortunately, I’m not happy with my performance in the English speaking (pronounce). But slowly things are going, and I'm working on it. Moreover, it’s also complicated to record again because the scenery. For classes/lectures, it won't be a great problem.

Infelizmente, não estou feliz com minha performance na fala em inglês (pronúncia). Mas devagar as coisas andam, e estou trabalhando nisso. Ademais, é complicado gravar novamente por causa das condições do cenário. Para as aulas/palestras, isso não será um grande problema (facilidade na edição do vídeo).
