This week, the article “The UK’s Midata and Open Banking programmes: A case study in and requirements” authored by CyberBRICS & Centro de Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS/FGV) Visiting Professor Ian BROWN, was published at Technology and Regulation. The article was developed as part of Ian’s participation in the Ecosystemic project, financed by the IIASA and coordinated by CyberBRICS Associated Scholar Nicolo Zingales.
The article “examines how self-regulatory and then competition authority-imposed requirements for data portability ( ) then interoperability ( ) in the UK’s retail banking markets were used to increase competition and create better-functioning, more innovative and diverse markets for personal accounts and small business banking, and related services”.

CyberBRICS Director Luca Belli was interviewed by Valor Econômico and discussed the growth of spending in in . He highlights the caused by an increase in the disparities related to among low income families. The markets expect an increase in 10% to 20% in sales, however the products may not be delivered to all publics. The CyberBRICS Project and the Centro de Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS/FGV) are co-hosting the theme of the "Governing Conversations" debate series, created by the Digital Interests Lab of New York University and by the Information Society Project of Yale Law School. Governing Conversations aims to provide scholars in the digital governance field and interested audiences alike a time for genuine reflection and critical perspectives.
