Did you know that one of the most accepted definitions by Americans to explain why the day after Thanksgiving became known as BlackFriday is that it was a nickname used by the Philadelphia police in the early 1990s as on this day the Christmas shopping season begins and many people go shopping and great crowds are found? 😳
Companies are reevaluating the use of the term because they fear it is racist nowadays. Some even use it no more! 👊🏼

When they won, the British celebrated with a new Thanksgiving banquet that lasted for days. This celebration kept alive for years, but only for drinkers. 🍗🍻
Only in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln asked the Americans to dedicate the last Thursday of November to Thanksgiving and be grateful for everything that has been achieved in the year. In 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt determined that Thanksgiving would always be on the 4th Thursday of November. 🇺🇸

...It is believed that some English colonizers went through a very cold and difficult winter when they arrived in America and were helped by the Wampanoag (native people). ❄️
After a large harvest and, in order to thank everything they had received from the native people, the English offered a great feast with turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie the following year. 🦃
This event was the first Thanksgiving dinner. 🍗
