AKCIT e Goiânia: palco da inovação, ciência e tecnologia em 2026!
Este ano, o Centro de Competência Embrapii em Tecnologias Imersivas (AKCIT) tem a honra de receber em Goiânia três dos principais eventos científicos da área de computação e tecnologia da América Latina: o SVR( Simpósio de Realidade Virtual e Aumentada), o SBGames (Simpósio Brasileiro de Jogos e Entretenimento Digital) e o SIBGRAPI (Conferência sobre Computação Gráfica, Padrões e Imagens). Estes encontros reúnem pesquisadores, professores, estudantes e profissionais do Brasil e do exterior para trocar conhecimento, apresentar pesquisas de ponta e impulsionar inovação nas áreas de realidade virtual, jogos digitais, computação gráfica, visão computacional e processamento de imagens. A realização desses eventos em Goiânia evidencia a capacidade tecnológica e científica da nossa cidade e fortalece ainda mais o protagonismo do AKCIT e do Estado de Goiás no cenário nacional de ciência, tecnologia e inovação!!

Luciana Nedel is a full professor at the Institute of Informatics of UFRGS, where she has been teaching and doing research in virtual reality, interactive visualization, and human-computer interaction since 2002. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1998. In her research career, she has been involved in projects with industry and in cooperation with different Universities abroad. Her main research interests include virtual and augmented reality, immersive visual analytics, and 3D User interfaces (3DUI). She is a member of IEEE, ACM, and SBC, where she contributed as program committee chair many times: IEEE VR 2025 full papers, Interact 2025 short papers, IEEE VR 2022 journal papers, etc. She is also an associated editor for IEEE TVCG (Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, Computers & Graphics, IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications, The Visual Computer Journal (TVC), Frontiers in Virtual Reality, and SBC JBCS (Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society).

Dr. Ayush Bhargava is a User Experience Researcher at Meta Reality Labs. His work at Meta sits at the intersection of human perception, inputs, and interaction, pushing the boundaries of spatial computing on a regular basis. He uses the lens of perception to understand human behavior in order to improve the overall user experience for immersive experiences.
Dr. Bhargava earned his PhD in Computer Science from Clemson University, focusing on affordance perception and interaction in Virtual Reality. His past work in the field of VR has covered a wide variety of topics, including self-avatars, perceptual calibration, perception-action, educational simulations, 3D interaction, tangibles, and Cybersickness.

In her keynote at SVR 2024, Veronica Teichrieb will discuss the evolution from Augmented Reality (AR) to Augmented Intelligence (AI), highlighting the crucial role of spatial computing and behavior analytics. She will explain how AR, which traditionally enhances user experiences by overlaying digital content onto the real world, is increasingly merging with AI to create smarter systems that can understand and predict human behavior. Using case studies and recent advancements from Voxar Labs, she will showcase the potential of these technologies to transform sectors like healthcare and education, and explore the challenges and opportunities as we advance toward a future where virtual and augmented realities are seamlessly integrated with cognitive computing, driving the next wave of innovation in immersive environments.
