By discussing themes, literary elements, and personal interpretations, they strengthen their communication skills while making meaningful connections with literature.

Welcome to the first episode of our Poetry Time Podcast!

As part of their learning journey, our Year 5 students revisited the poetry collection studied in class by sharing their understandings of each poem. Through discussions and lots of reflection moments, our students explored the literary elements, interpreted meanings, and communicated their ideas with confidence.

At Red House, learning becomes even more meaningful when students take ownership of their knowledge and share it with others.

Bem-vindos ao primeiro episódio do nosso Poetry Time Podcast (um podcast para ensinar você sobre poesia e como escrever a sua).

Como parte da revisão dos conteúdos trabalhados em sala, os alunos do Year 5 (10 e 11 anos de idade) compartilham suas interpretações sobre a coletânea de poemas estudada.

Ao apresentarem suas reflexões, eles desenvolvem a compreensão do gênero textual na escrita, o pensamento crítico e a confiança para comunicar suas ideias.

Languages shape more than the way we communicate. They shape the way we think.

Our latest RED TALK brought families together for an inspiring conversation with Matthias Meier about multilingualism, critical thinking, creativity, empathy and the skills children need to navigate an increasingly connected world, including a future shaped by Artificial Intelligence.

While parents engaged in the conversation, children took part in English-language activities, creating an experience designed for the whole family.

At Red House, international education means preparing students not only to speak more than one language, but to see the world through different perspectives.

Os idiomas transformam muito mais do que a nossa forma de nos comunicar. Eles também transformam a nossa forma de pensar.

Nosso último RED TALK reuniu famílias para uma conversa inspiradora com Matthias Meier sobre multilinguismo, pensamento crítico, criatividade, empatia e as habilidades que as crianças precisam desenvolver para navegar por um mundo cada vez mais conectado, inclusive diante de um futuro influenciado pela Inteligência Artificial.

Enquanto os pais participavam da conversa, as crianças vivenciavam atividades em inglês, tornando a experiência pensada para toda a família.

Na Red House, educação internacional significa preparar os alunos não apenas para falar mais de um idioma, mas para compreenderem o mundo a partir de diferentes perspectivas.

Every text must be written aiming at a reader or a specific goal, and understanding its structure helps students become more confident writers and communicators.
In this video, Sofia (Year 3) explains the characteristics of a “Procedural Text” genre, demonstrating how students develop reading comprehension by identifying how information is organized and why it is presented in a specific way.

At Red House, we foster the exploration of different text genres in order to encourage students to think critically, to communicate with confidence, and to apply their discoveries in meaningful contexts.

Todo gênero textual deve ser escrito pensando no leitor que vai lê-lo ou no propósito da mensagem que se deseja passar, e compreender a estrutura do gênero textual ajuda os alunos a se tornarem escritores e comunicadores mais confiantes.

Neste vídeo, Sofia (8 anos de idade) explica as características do gênero “Procedural Text” (texto procedimental), demonstrando como nossos alunos desenvolvem a compreensão leitora ao identificar como as informações são organizadas naquele gênero textual específico e porque são apresentadas dessa forma.

Na Red House, o estudo dos diferentes gêneros textuais estimula o pensamento crítico, fortalece a comunicação e amplia a capacidade dos alunos de aplicarem seus conhecimentos em diferentes gêneros textuais e contextos.

Being a father means being fluent in many ways. It means being fluent in playing together, studying together, and making everything easier. It’s dancing like no one’s watching and telling the best stories using the most entertaining voices. It’s making a huge mess, but also knowing when it’s time to tidy up, wash the dishes, and get everything in order. Here’s to this person who is so important in our lives! And here’s to that multi-fluency that makes us human beings so special and unique. Happy Father’s Day.

Ser pai é ter múltiplas fluências. É ser fluente em brincar junto, estudar junto e tornar tudo mais fácil. É dançar como se não tivesse ninguém olhando. Contar as melhores histórias com as vozes mais divertidas. É fazer a maior bagunça, mas também saber a hora de ajeitar a casa, lavar a louça, deixar tudo arrumado. Viva essa pessoa tão importante nas nossas vidas! E viva também essa multifluência que faz de nós, seres humanos, tão especiais e tão únicos. Feliz Dia dos Pais.

Every meaningful learning experience carries a story, and some of the most memorable ones are created with love, intention, and little hands at work.

For Father’s Day, our students colored and crafted a special card themselves. With this gesture, they expressed gratitude, strengthened their creativity, and discovered that meaningful gestures can communicate what words sometimes cannot.

At Red House, learning is also about building relationships, developing empathy, and understanding that caring for others is part of becoming a globally minded individual.

Toda aprendizagem significativa também pode ser uma demonstração de afeto.

Neste Dia dos Pais, nossos alunos pintaram e confeccionaram, com as próprias mãos, um cartão muito especial para homenagear quem faz parte da sua trajetória. Mais do que produzir um “card”, eles exercitaram a criatividade, a autonomia e descobriram que pequenos gestos podem transmitir grandes sentimentos.

Na Red House, acreditamos que educar também é cultivar vínculos, desenvolver a empatia e formar crianças capazes de reconhecer o valor das pessoas que fazem parte da sua história.

The Exhibition is important because it is the culminating learning experience of the Primary Years Curriculum at Red House. And this Inquiry based project strengthens the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. Throughout this one whole year process, students develop research, communication, thinking, self-management, and social skills that prepare them for their future academic success.

So, in this video, our Year 5 student, Enzo, introduces Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, reflecting on the importance of ending hunger, promoting food security, and ensuring access to healthy nutrition for everyone.

By discussing global challenges like this one, our students strengthen their awareness, empathy, and sense of shared responsibility for building a more sustainable world.

At Red House, learning empowers students to understand global issues and take meaningful action within their communities.

A Exhibition é importante porque representa a experiência culminante de aprendizagem do Primary Years Curriculum (Ensino Fundamental - Anos iniciais) da Red House. Além disso, esse projeto, baseado na Aprendizagem por Investigação, fortalece as Approaches to Learning (ATL) Skills.

Ao longo de todo esse processo, que acontece durante um ano letivo, os estudantes desenvolvem habilidades de pesquisa, comunicação, pensamento crítico, autogestão e competências sociais, preparando-se para um futuro de sucesso acadêmico.

Neste vídeo, nosso aluno do Year 5, Enzo, (10 anos de idade), apresenta o Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) 2: Fome Zero, refletindo sobre a importância de erradicar a fome, promover a segurança alimentar e garantir o acesso de todas as pessoas a uma alimentação saudável e nutritiva.

Ao discutir desafios globais como esse, nossos estudantes ampliam sua consciência, fortalecem a empatia e desenvolvem um profundo senso de responsabilidade compartilhada na construção de um mundo mais sustentável.
