🏖 HOLIDAY x VACATION 🏕

For Americans, it’s more common to say VACATION whereas for people who speak british English, they call it HOLIDAY.
Holiday is often used in the plural. You can chat about what happened on your holidays or the summer holidays. Remember you can’t use vacation in the plural in this way, so you CAN'T say the summer vacations.

A holiday is a also single day or group of days when people don’t work, usually to celebrate an important event.

For those who speak british english, they call this a bank holiday or public holiday.

Example: Christmas is my favorite holiday.
