Klamath Knot Permaculture is an affiliation of Permaculture practitioners in Northwest California working to create resilient homes and communities by restoring watersheds and developing alternative technologies that reduce our carbon footprint. We sponsor ongoing events in Permaculture topics, including Permacuture Design Certification, natural building, sustainable farming, site analysis and de

sign, water systems, mycoremediation and more. Our annual Permaculture Design Certification course is for aspiring or experienced gardeners, farmers, community organizers, land planners, builders and any active, engaged citizen seeking positive change. Our team of instructors combine lecture, reading and hands-on activities to teach the 72 hour Permaculture Design Course curriculum adapted to the specific climate and conditions of Northwest California and Southern Oregon. Three weekend sessions are based at Sandy Bar Ranch, 20-year Permaculture site, and the surrounding Klamath River watershed. The following sessions occur at Permaculture sites in the Northcoast region. Topics include zone and sector analysis, observation as the basis for design, keyline design of swales and ponds, organic gardening and farming, orchard management, plant propagation, animal husbandry, soil management, ethnobotany, pest management, natural building techniques, community process, watershed restoration, fire and fuels management and more.
