Imperdível palestra com o Walshe!
It is a great pleasure to announce the next ABEI WEBINAR "Oscar Wilde: In Conversation with Eibhear Walshe".
For the past thirty years, Dr. Eibhear Walshe has lectured in the School of English at University College Cork, Ireland. His publications are in the area of modern Irish fiction and drama and his focus has been on literary criticism, biography and on cultural history. He has published three monographs, a memoir, three novels and eleven edited volumes, as well as numerous peer-reviewed essays and book chapters on Irish writers. He is also interested in the interconnections between politics, literature and the representations of sexuality. Since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland in 1993, le***an and gay studies have emerged as an exciting and innovative field in contemporary Irish Studies and he has been to the fore in the publications, for example in The Field Day Anthology of Irish Writing, Volume 4, his edited essay collection, Sex, Nation and Dissent, his biography on the Irish novelist, Kate O’Brien and his book on Wilde and Ireland, Oscar’s Shadow: Wilde, Homosexuality and Modern Ireland ( 2011).
