In the latest paper of our Research Group, a decision support system (DSM) was developed to predict trends and operational deviations in thermal power plants with combustion engines in an automated and reliable way. It is based on digital twin models for thermoelectric generation engines and their subsystems associated with models of machine learning for predictive maintenance, allowing the classification of failures in the generating units of the plant.

In this recent review of our research group we present the state-of-the-art of 3D printing technology applied to the development of devices aimed to environmental protection. Furthermore, this review also reports a literature exam of four different types of environmental devices: microreactors, 3D printed supports functionalized with adsorbents, and functional devices with photocatalytic and conductive properties.

In our recent paper, TiO2–La 0.05%–carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin (CMCD) nanoparticles were successfully prepared by a simple two-step method, which consists of sonification and functionalization. The characterization analyses revealed that lanthanum is dispersed on the semiconductor surface, probably forming Ti–O–La bonds, which can induce oxygen vacancies and surface defects that effectively restrain the recombination of photogenerated electron/holes pairs.
