O Karatê no Brasil não permitia que menores de 15 anos chegassem à faixa-preta. Porém, graças ao então Presidente da FCK, Dr. Julio Cesar Lopes, tive autorização da CBK para prestar meu exame alguns meses antes de completar 15 anos de idade.
Um dia especial, e de muita pressão, pois tínhamos (eu e ) uma seletiva nacional no dia seguinte e precisaríamos viajar na tarde do exame.
Fomos examinados sozinhos, banca (Sensei Juichi Sagara) e o monitor do exame (Sensei Fábio Melim).

HAYATE JK-1 Review:

I'll try and give a brief overview of the uniform.
The fabric is lightweight if compared to the heavier Shureido's NW3 I'm used to wearing, however, it keeps its shape and feels very comfortableand soft on the skin.

UWAGI (jacket): the cut is outstanding and the jacket does not interfere with arm movement. The WAKI (armpit) is wider than the SODE GUCHI (wrist opening) giving the uniform a very stylish look and room for you shoulders and shoulder blades area. The inner extra fabric covering the top of the jacket is soft and absorbs sweat well. Side openings are higher than most uniforms and provide room for the thighs when in low stances like SHIKO-DACHI. The fabric provides a sharp and crispy snap sound. Perfect for teaching, everyday training and competition as well.

ZUBON (pants): the high waist is a plus. Firm, yet not bulky providing extra support to the lower back and a firm ground for the jacket and belt. The MATA (crotch area) is low and just like the jacket, provides room enough for low stances and high kicks, without hindering mobility. The SUSO (pants cuff) are wide and add beauty to one's stances.

Although I purchased an "off the shelf" #6 (180cm - I am 174cm-tall) the uniform feels as if it was fully tailored. The fabric, 8-line stitching and the blueish finish makes the uniform look and feel like a custom made Italian suit.
