Last Saturday, for the May round of my Intro to Phonology workshop, I had the company of 10 very wise, experienced English teachers who are willing to go beyond in their knowledge about the language so that their students can progress even further. I'm truly happy to have had the chance to interact with professionals from so many different teaching contexts!

⚠️ This was my last workshop in the 1st Semester, but if you wish to learn more about Pronunciation, a new course is coming soon - stay tuned 🚨

An English teacher has recently asked me for some advice regarding one of their CELTA assignments, which made me pick up my very own record of the experience I had in that course.

Much is said about the inherent challenges in this course, but for me it was a milestone in my career - not only was I able to develop fundamental skills as an English teacher, but it was also in the CELTA that I acquired knowledge about the language that made an incredible difference in the work I still deliver to this day and how vocal I am about language awareness.

I will be talking about one of my favorite language-related topics tomorrow at 14h00 BRT - Phonology - most of which I acquired during my tenure as a CELTee. If you wish to join me in this journey discovering why pronunciation is also essential, send me a DM or comment SOUNDS in this post.

- Sounds Foundations (Adrian Underhill)

Methodology:
- 30 Language Teaching Methods (Scott Thornbury)
- A Course in English Language Teaching (Penny Ur)
- An A-Z of ELT (Scott Thornbury)
- Communicative Language Teaching Today (Jack Richards)

In order to celebrate our 8th anniversary at , we offered a free workshop on a key issue for the English teacher currently - Phonology. Having the chance to discuss such an important topic with our students mirrored everything we've been doing since our foundation and something we've become known for - a rock-solid focus on Teacher Development, including a focus on Language Awareness, for both our in-house teachers, our students and the ELT community as a whole. Thanks to everyone for supporting us through these 8 years!
