ACTIVE:

Example: She wrote the book. ✍️

➡️ use to emphasise the subject that performs the action.

➡️ use this structure: subject + verb + object

PASSIVE:

Example: The book was written. 📖

➡️ use when it isn’t said, known, or important who does an action.⁣

➡️ use this structure: object + be + past participle

➡️ if you want to say who performs the action, add ‘by’, e.g. The book was written by her.

➡️ commonly used to talk about scientific processes and in formal language, such as in news reports.
