EAB was filled with color, music, and pure joy during our Carnaval Ball celebration.
In vibrant costumes and bright smiles, our students danced, laughed, and embraced the spirit of one of Brazil’s most meaningful cultural traditions. Experiences like this show that learning also grows through celebration, creativity, and shared moments of connection.
Happy Carnaval!

The Official page for the American School of Brasilia
At the American School of Brasilia, each student pursues an excellent academic program in a supportive and nurturing learning environment, whose rigor and relevance is evident through the five pillars of academics, arts, leadership, service learning, and activities. In an EAB education, our students are:

Music has a beautiful way of bringing people together, and this week, we saw that magic in action.
High School student Rafael spent time with our Grade 4 students, sharing his passion for the violin and giving them a glimpse into his journey as a young musician. After a stunning performance, Rafael thoughtfully answered students’ questions about how long he’s been playing, what it takes to learn a new piece, and the challenges that come with mastering an instrument.
Rafael has been playing the violin since he was just 4 years old and practices nearly two hours every day. His visit sparked curiosity, highlighted the power of dedication, and created a special moment of connection between students across grade levels — a reminder that learning and inspiration truly grow when we share them.
EAB proudly hosted the XI edition of BSBMUN last week.
For three days, our campus transformed into a hub of dialogue, diplomacy, and critical thinking as students stepped into the role of global leaders. Through debate, collaboration, and negotiation, delegates tackled real-world issues while building confidence, strengthening leadership skills, and deepening their understanding of international relations.
Student-led, thoughtfully organized, and purpose-driven, BSBMUN XI was a powerful reminder of the impact of youth voice and the importance of engaging with the world beyond the classroom.
Thank you to the School of Nations and the British School of Brasília for joining us in this inspiring experience.
EAB’s 5th annual Festival de Curtas was a powerful showcase of what happens when students truly take the lead.
From filmmaking and creative collaboration to confidently hosting the event itself, students were involved in every step of the process — making decisions, solving problems, and owning their learning from start to finish.
The result was more than a film festival. It was a celebration of creativity, voice, and purpose, where students stood proudly behind their work and their growth.
This experience was made possible thanks to the exceptional work of our Middle School and High School Portuguese teachers: Ms. Leila, Ms. Camila, Ms. Juliana, and Ms. Luciana. Their thoughtful guidance, strong pedagogical vision, and commitment to meaningful learning transformed this project into an experience that resonates well beyond the screen.

Rehearsals are in full swing for Seussical the Musical!
Our Middle School and High School students are already deep in the world of Who-ville, bringing music, movement, and plenty of imagination to life as they prepare for performances this April.
This joyful show celebrates kindness, courage, and staying true to who you are—plus a whole lot of teamwork along the way. Watching our MS and HS students collaborate, grow into their roles, and support one another is pure magic.
April will be here before we know it… and these performers are making sure they’re more than ready.
Lower School Parent Coffee
Yesterday, we welcomed parents and EAB staff for another Lower School Parent Coffee — a space we offer several times a year to connect, share, and listen.
Some coffee talks focus on specific themes, like how students learn math across grade levels, while others are open forums for parents to ask any questions on their minds. This week’s coffee was an open Q&A, with questions submitted in advance, sparking great conversations around Club EAB after-school activities, uniforms, lunch, academics, and social-emotional learning.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us! We’re always here to listen, learn, and keep making EAB an even better place for our community.

Art beyond the classroom!
Our High School & IB Visual Arts students recently stepped into the vibrant world of Brazilian art with an immersive field trip to CCBB. From contemporary meme culture to modern Brazilian masterpieces, students explored two powerful exhibitions rooted in research, reflection, and community connection.
Each student chose a work that sparked something personal—and transformed that inspiration into an original artistic response, developing their own ideas, perspectives, and visual language along the way. This is learning that lives, breathes, and connects to the world around us.
A big thank you to our US IB Arts Teacher, Ms. Diana Campre, for guiding and accompanying students on this meaningful experience!

The music that filled the Festival of Lights was the result of weeks of dedication, practice, and heart.
To celebrate that commitment, our amazing music teacher, Ms. Ana, surprised the Lower School Choir and Band with a special ice cream party—honoring their hard work, teamwork, and the joy they bring to music and to our community.
The High School Activities Fair gave students the chance to explore clubs aligned with their interests, ask questions, and discover where their passions can grow.
From leadership and service to creativity and collaboration, each club represents an opportunity for voice, belonging, and meaningful engagement beyond the classroom. This is learning in action—shaped by curiosity, choice, and community.
Led by students, for students, our clubs reflect the interests and initiatives of our learners. Most EAB students are involved in at least one club, and any student with an idea is empowered to start a new one—strengthening a culture of leadership, ownership, and belonging.
The Middle School Mini Field Day in December was pure joy!
Dressed in their team colors, students jumped into the fun—from trivia and art dictation to board games, dodgeball, kickball, and the island game.
Laughter, teamwork, and encouragement filled the day as friendships grew stronger every step of the way. A perfect way to close the semester—with full hearts, big smiles, and memories that will last well beyond the break.

Year 1 Portuguese B students took learning beyond the classroom with a visit to Capital Recicláveis, our recycling partner.
Through a behind-the-scenes look at each stage of the recycling process, students explored the real social and environmental impact of sustainability in action. Connected to the IB theme “Sharing the Planet,” the experience brought classroom learning to life—highlighting waste management, community responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
Students also engaged in meaningful conversations with Capital Recicláveis professionals about local challenges and preservation initiatives, deepening their understanding of how individual and collective actions can create lasting change.
