Dear Dutch students in Brazil,

You have probably heard that The European Union will close its borders to all non-essential travel due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). EU citizens however can return home.

We have heard from many of you already, asking us if it’s best to go home or not. In the end the choice is yours, but currently – with all rapidly changing developments – it seems best to advise you to return home to the Netherlands.

As an environmental engineer, the country offers a vast variety of opportunities for young exchange students like us due to its amazing environment and fast-growing sustainable conscience among society.
Furthermore, PUC Minas was a wonderful platform for internship development as it conveyed helpful staff (from professors to the SEPLAN crew) with adequate infraestructure.
From a personal perspective, the Minas Gerais state made me feel like home... Cruzeiro, Pao de Queijo, Churrasco in combination with life-long friends and a buzzing nightlife, made me wanna return as soon as possible as well as changing the often misleading views the media has about the nation!
