💚🤍 TILUCHIS DE ORO: TALENT, IDEAS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

As part of our Santa Cruz Month activities, we opened our doors to the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our Oxford community through our Tiluchis de Oro Fair. ✨

Parents and family members had the opportunity to showcase their businesses, products, services and talents, creating a space to connect, share ideas and support one another.

More than a fair, Tiluchis de Oro is an opportunity to encourage entrepreneurship, initiative and creativity, while strengthening the bonds that make our Oxford community grow together. 💚

Because behind every idea, there is talent worth discovering and supporting.

💚🤍 How many typical cruceño expressions do you know? 🌴📝

As part of our September cultural activities, our Student Council created a series of short videos exploring some of the words and expressions that make the way people speak in Santa Cruz so unique.

A fun way to discover that language is also culture — it tells stories, reflects traditions and helps us understand the community we live in.

Through student-led initiatives like this, learning becomes interactive, meaningful and connected to everyday life. 💚🤍

💚🤍 LEARNING SANTA CRUZ THROUGH MUSIC! 🥁🎶

As part of our September cultural activities, our students received a very special visit: a traditional TAMBORITA!

The music filled Oxford with rhythm and excitement, giving our students the opportunity to listen, dance, enjoy and experience a beautiful part of Santa Cruz culture first-hand.

The tamborita is a traditional musical ensemble deeply rooted in the culture of Santa Cruz, traditionally combining flutes with percussion instruments such as the drum and tambora. 🥁🎵

A joyful experience that reminds us that culture can also be learned by living it! 💚

💚🤍 DISCOVERING SANTA CRUZ THROUGH CULTURE AND TRADITION

Throughout September, our students will have the opportunity to discover more about the traditions, expressions, music, dances and customs of Santa Cruz, the city that welcomes our Oxford community. 🌴

Led by our Student Council, students have organised a series of interactive activities involving different year groups, teachers, staff and families — turning culture into a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom.

Through participation and shared experiences, our students will not only learn about local traditions, but also develop curiosity, respect, teamwork, leadership and a deeper understanding of the community and cultural environment around them.

We are especially proud to see our Student Council taking the initiative and transforming their ideas into learning opportunities for the entire Oxford community. 💚🤍

Because understanding the place we live in is also part of learning about the world around us.

🇧🇴✨ CELEBRATING OUR CULTURE THROUGH MOVEMENT, MUSIC AND TRADITION

As part of our “Apreciando lo Nuestro” programme, a few days ago our Oxford community came together for one of its most colourful and meaningful experiences: our Bolivian Traditional Dance Festival. 💙💛💚

Through music, movement and traditional dances from different regions of Bolivia, our students had the opportunity to experience our cultural heritage rather than simply learn about it.

Preparing each performance involves much more than learning choreography. It encourages teamwork, discipline, commitment, coordination, confidence and self-expression, while helping students understand the traditions and cultural identity behind every dance they perform.

This is what experiential learning means to us: turning knowledge into meaningful experiences that engage the mind, the body and the emotions.

At Oxford English School, we believe that a global education also begins with knowing, respecting and valuing our own roots. 🌎🇧🇴

We are proud to share some of the wonderful moments our students gave us during this special experience.

🤟🇧🇴 LEARNING TO COMMUNICATE BEYOND WORDS

As part of our “Apreciando lo Nuestro” activities at Oxford North Campus, our students took on a very special challenge: presenting what they learned about Bolivia through Sign Language.

Preparing a presentation in Sign Language goes far beyond memorizing signs. It requires concentration, coordination, visual expression, body awareness, memory, confidence, and a deep understanding of how communication can take many different forms.

Through this experience, our students not only shared their knowledge about Bolivia’s departments, culture, traditions and diversity, but also strengthened values that are essential to their education: empathy, respect, inclusion and appreciation for different ways of communicating.

Learning Sign Language helps students understand that communication is about much more than words. It is about connecting, understanding and making space for everyone. 💙💚

We are especially grateful to Dnlsb Bolivia for being part of this learning journey and contributing to an education that encourages our students to see the world from different perspectives.

🇧🇴 EXPLORING BOLIVIA, LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Our Oxford North Campus began this year’s “Apreciando lo Nuestro” activities with one of the most enriching experiences of the program: our students’ presentations about Bolivia. 🇧🇴✨

Across all educational levels, each class explored the richness and diversity of our country through its different departments, researching and presenting their culture, geography, population, traditions, customs, gastronomy, and tourist attractions.

But this experience goes far beyond learning facts. It is experiential learning in action: students research, organize information, work collaboratively, communicate their ideas, speak in public, answer questions, and transform knowledge into an experience they can share with others.

Through these presentations, they strengthen essential skills such as teamwork, communication, confidence, creativity, responsibility, and critical thinking, while developing a deeper appreciation for the country they call home. 💙💚

At Oxford, we believe that meaningful learning happens when students have the opportunity to explore, experience, communicate, and connect what they learn with the real world.

Today, we proudly begin a very special month for our Oxford English School community.

For 6 years, we have shared dreams, celebrated achievements, embraced challenges and, above all, grown together as one family. Every student, every family, every teacher and every member of our staff has been an essential part of this journey.

Throughout this month, we will look back on meaningful memories, honour the people who have shaped our story, and share special moments that reflect who we are and the values that continue to guide us.
