Spanish learners when latinos say ‘ya vengo’ and then just... leave.

My brain hears ‘tu cara me suena’ and translates it word for word: your face sounds to me? Then someone says ‘ya vengo,’ walks straight out the door, and does not come back for twenty minutes. Textbook spanish taught me vocabulary. Nobody taught me that spanish phrases stop making sense the second you translate them literally.
